Another solid week having crossed the 10k profit on the season even though I'm not really seeing it in that way. This good run merely is adding feathers to the pillow to fall on when the bad times hit. Thinking in absolute numbers when betting on sports makes things a lot more emotional and you don't want that since it can highly influence your clear mindedness. Being euphoric during an upswing and depressed when things go down hard does not benefit long term results in any way. There is a saying in gambling that the lowest of lows are always worse compared to the highest of highs mentally. I really believe it's something you need to experience before you can master this, conceptual understanding does very little for as far as I understand how everything works in the brain.
This week was interesting with some situations where I didn't fully know what to do. As written in my weekly League roundups, I always try to have a game plan going in to each match. This week I was way too focussed to an unlikely situation to go 'all in' in the Lokeren vs Anderlecht match which kept me from making profit in that match. Lokeren getting ahead against play would have made me take Anderlecht at maximum stakes. At the same time I liked Anderlecht live who were the dominant team and tend to perform good away while Lokeren is a bad home team. Betting Anderlecht to see them get behind even though it was unlikely would have been brutal since I would be unable to bet big on comeback I was already losing on. I ended up taking a small bet on the 1st Half -0.25 bet. with the idea to at least win something if they took the lead, losing the minimum when they were draw with a lot of extra betting options in the 2nd half or having my jackpot setup. 1st half ended 1-1 after Anderlecht took the lead first. 2nd Half was the same story, liking Anderlecht to win but being a bit greedy I opted to cost average my way into it with a couple smaller -0.5 bets that I would merge together. Quickly after the first -0.5 Bet @ 2.0 Anderlecht scored after which I did not take any more bets in a match that stayed 1-2. Overall a small loss on this match, but a lesson learned not to focus too much on a unlikely event to happen but just take it already when I see value on something.
Most profit came from the mid-week cup matches. These type of matches always have potential to be crazy high scoring encounters. Being able to spot those and exploit can be very profitable which is what I did with the kortrijk vs Antwerp match taking O 1.75, Over 2.25 and Over 3 bets live. The match ended in a crazy high 4-2 score.

Identified strongly with your comments about getting too excited or overly depressed. I went through this in poker since I have played much more cards than sports betting over the years. I'm a lot more centered these days, but still have moments of weakness. lol
I've come to realize that I am probably an average player, so this keeps me from getting too cocky when I'm on a winning streak. I know that positive variance will be on my side occasionally. And when I'm losing, I know I'm not that bad, either, and that even when I should win, sometimes I just won't. That's poker, and that's sports.
Live betting is even more volatile, and I have come to avoid it, knowing myself as I do. I have found myself in the past using live betting to try to get even once my initial bet looks less likely to win. Perhaps my discipline will increase over time, but for now, I cast my bets, and I accept the results. No chasing, no correcting, and no negative self-talk.
Its great that you continue to write about your results and your mindset. It's therapeutic and instructive. I appreciate these posts, very much.

I believe writing everything down weekly really helps and is part the reason for the good results so far this season so I'm not about to stop any time soon.
