Irvine's Images

Let me first admit that yes this is a contest entry but for a great cause. The rules for this contest is to assist Irvine to get his work noticed. As we all know many of us see a lot of crap posts in trending and many groups like @thesteemengine have implemented such initiatives as #shoutoutsaturdays in order to circumvent or at least allow others to see quality work being posted on Steemit.

This contest is featuring one specific artist in order for this lovely work to be seen by as many people as possible. In my opinion, as far as contests goes this is one of the kindest gestures I have seen on Steemit since starting approximately six months ago.

I found these photos absolutely spectacular, and mostly because many of Irvine's photography is taken in the lovely southwest of America where my people originated. Not only that, but I actually feel the energy vibration flowing through my body as I view the landscapes.

After seeing this lovely rainbow capture I could not help but think about the words of my people the Hopi. There is a prophecy that says:

When the earth is dying there shall arise a new tribe of all colors and all creeds. This tribe shall be called The Warriors of the Rainbow and it will put its faith in actions not words.

Many people feel we are living in those times today, and I am inclined to agree.

This area called the Crescent Moon Ranch is the land of my Apache ancestry, located in Coconino National Forest. The earliest known inhabitants were dated back to 700-900 A.D., the Apache hunted and gathered in this area. When I look at this amazing photo my heart yearns to walk this land, which I have yet to do and I thank Irvine for capturing such a lovely photo. This gave me the impetus to get into gear and plan a visit very soon.

The lovely photo above shows us the Red Rock Crossing Trail that consists of approximately 1.1 miles in and out. The trail is moderately trafficked and located near Sedona, Arizona. Today, the area is known for picnicking, fishing, and swimming.

Personally, the feelings I have as I look at this photo is one of "home," and although I feel this very strongly in Mesa Verde this area of Sedona calls my name. The water flow in particular catches my attention, and I loved the way the "soft cotton" effect was implemented. In photography class they mentioned this can be done by using a shutter release cable and tripod. Very cool stuff!

It is without saying that I would totally support my hometown stomping ground of the Redwood Forest. Growing up in this area and seeing this photo brought that bittersweet feeling of homesickness. Memories of the sweet damp smell of natural forest is a blessing and torture at the same time.

The lovely green of the forest and detail of the trees is amazing, and transports me right into the forest as if I never left. That is true talent by @irvinesimages.

Shadows On The Sand. Photo taken by @irvinesimages

When I look at the amazing sand shot above I recall the poem written by Robert Frost:

Sand Dunes
Sea waves are green and wet,
But up from where they die,
Rise others vaster yet,
And those are brown and dry.

They are the sea made land
To come at the fisher town,
And bury in solid sand
The men she could not drown.

She may know cove and cape,
But she does not know mankind
If by any change of shape,
She hopes to cut off mind.

Men left her a ship to sink:
They can leave her a hut as well;
And be but more free to think
For the one more cast-off shell.

It would be remiss of me not to mention the photo that was noticed by @curie and given a respectable nod by over 600 Steemians. This photo took everyone's breath away, as it captured the electrifying power of lightening in this amazing black and white shot.

As I contemplate the photo above it reminds me of the quote by Lao Tzu:

If lightning is the anger of the gods, then the gods are concerned mostly about trees.

Greetings,
Thank you for stopping by to read my blog. I’m a First Nation member of the Hopi & Apache Native American tribes, Medicine Woman in training, first time blogger since November 2017, right here on Steemit, paralegal, researcher, and writer based in the Mountains of Colorado, USA. I work closely with fellow planktons and minnows in a few groups by helping them adjust to Steemit and curate quality content. I’m especially interested in finding others who love natural medicine originating from ancient practices, gold and silver, energy work, and the spirit world. If that’s you, please say hello!
See you soon, @eaglespirit

Hello Eagle Spirit, I'm very impressed by your thoughtful, heartfelt presentation and promotion of me and my work. I feel that you showed your deep connection with nature and the spirit of the this land. Its this same connection which is behind my passion to capture and share the intrinsic beauty of our wonderful planet and the life within. I thought I would mention that I live about a quarter mile from Crescent Moon Ranch and that this area is part of the Cathedral Rock energy vortex. This is one of four major vortex locations in Sedona. The Hopi considered this area to be sacred. Thanks a-lot for your efforts on a great job. Michael

@irvinesimages dearest Michael, of course every time i say that name i think of my Angel. :)
Thank you so much for writing such a lovely comment and it warms my heart to know that you were "impressed." i was very excited to write about your work, i do this for others sometimes and they seem to do well. i'm so happy you are getting recognized with curie and the contests. you deserve it!
thank you so very much for the info regarding the land and the Hopi, this makes a lot of sense. i have been to Sedona once when i was not as much "awake" and felt my heart pull in a big way. i was set to go down there this summer and i hope this will still happen. i am wondering why this land is sacred. i get a bit weirded out about the entire ant people, diff realms, middle earth, deep earth belief systems but its in the genes too ... so what to do with that i do not know. LOL
anyhoo, thank you again for stopping by and leaving me this great comment. it made my day and night! blessings kind sir, Eagle Spirit

Hey @eaglespirit. I hope you are having a wonderful day.

I've been asked by my good friend @apolymask to guest judge round 36 of the IFC. :)

As I said to @magicmoonlight in a comment a short time ago, a post including any photos by @irvinesimages is always going to be an aesthetically pleasing one but I really enjoyed the way you expressed such a personal connection them as well as the information and links you provided as well. Most of all, I loved the quote and link you provided at the start which really resonated with me personally and which is why I've decided to choose you as my winner. :)

When the earth is dying there shall arise a new tribe of all colors and all creeds. This tribe shall be called The Warriors of the Rainbow and it will put its faith in actions not words.

It was a really difficult choice given that there were quite a few excellent entries and there are of course still other judges to cast their votes but I'm sure you're in with a great chance of winning the round outright and I wish you the best of luck in that regard. :)

I also look forward to seeing your posts in my feed from now on. :)

Well done, my friend.

@tonyr hello kind sir!! i thank you for appreciating my post and seeing the feeling i was trying to describe. that is not always so easy. i especially like the fact that out of it all you chose the hopi prophecy to sync with. i find this very fascinating. i very much appreciate you saying "winning the round outright." i will keep my fingers crossed. winning is awesomesauce. :)
i than you again for your kind words and i will look forward to reading your blogs too. hugs, eagle

Those shots are absolutely amazing!
Congratulations @irvinesimages for the photos taken, I love the Shadows on Sand the most!
And thank to @eaglespirit for sharing a great new user to follow ✌️

@bafi oh thank you so so much!! so glad you liked one of my picks!! awww i'm honored!! :)

These photographs are incredible, so wonderful you share them on behalf of @irvinesimages to get them seen more. I really enjoyed your supporting text for each one, giving us a real insight into the location.

I can see why that lightening photo got a Curie - it's stunningly beautiful to look at.

@c0ff33a hey there sir, thank you for stopping by and yes his work is very inspirational. i appreciate you stopping by to lend your love and support over good works. very kind of you and thank you again! :)

In this place is really amazing nature :-)

oh aren't they? i thought soo too! thank you for coming by to take a look and reading. :)

Very well done entry @eaglespirit! I enjoyed your connection to these photographs and the land in general. Very neat to see how photography can have such an impact on someone! Good luck this round!

thank you so much for both the "very well done" and "good luck" i may need it hehe

Excellent entry eagle spirit! I think you did an awesome job of helping to bring more attention to my father and his artwork, and you shared a lot of interesting information and knowledge. The poem by Robert Frost is really good! And I wanted to echo what tonyr said about this part.

When the earth is dying there shall arise a new tribe of all colors and all creeds. This tribe shall be called The Warriors of the Rainbow and it will put its faith in actions not words.

I vibe with that a lot. I hope peoples can come together before it's too late to help heal the world.. Cause.. Things are pretty dire. I still have hope. And I think good peoples like yourself and others in the IFC are giving me even more hope back in humanity. I hope together we can find a balance with nature, before we extinct ourselves and so many other creatures on this planet.. It truly is urgent and we need all the good peoples and healers and helpers we can get! <3

I found these photos absolutely spectacular, and mostly because many of Irvine's photography is taken in the lovely southwest of America where my people originated.

Ahh. Your people originated from where I was born? That's interesting. This is definitely a unique area with a rich history. I loved learning about some of the Yavapai beliefs, which closely reflected some biblical stories and I just have to wonder.. Were they describing a similar thing, or did the natives sort of create their own versions out of what the Europeans had brought? And I still dunno.. It makes more sense that they borrowed from the Europeans because the legends are so close it's spooky! They have a Noah's Ark sort of story, a rib and forbidden fruit allegories, and.. They considered Sedona as the "Garden of Eden".. I have to wonder sometimes.. If there's more to that, or if perhaps.. Most peoples believe that where they are from is the "Garden of Eden". Heh.. I dunno, but it's one of the more fascinating things I've come across in my studies!

Do you have any stories you could share about this area? I would love to hear them sometime if you do!!
Anyways.. I don't want to ramble too long, going to end this shortly.. Just wanted to say one more time, thanks for the awesome entry!!

@apolymask wow that is one serious comment and feedback, i appreciate you saying awesome entry but guess not a vote from you. bbuahahahahaah
i only know what my intuition tells me and once i get there, then i will hear the stories, as soon as i learn some i will be happy to share them. i will get down there soon enough. it is the ole homeland .. the whole area really since i'm apache/hopi before they were are where i am now the four corners so i will be up and down and all around telling stories for sure. we all need to hear the ancient stories. its within us.

His work is amazing off to check it out and support

@tattoodjay aww thank you so much Tatt!! that is an honor that this caught your sharp eye! :)

Wow, you really hit a gold mine with these photos! All of these shots by @irvinesimages are remarkable, and each one had me changing my mental "favorite" each time! LOL! It is wonderful that these images have inspired you to visit your ancestral lands, and I wish you much peace and insight on your journey! I would definitely enjoy reading any recap that you might journal about the trip. Thank you for sharing these spectuacular sights with #steemitbloggers 😊

@thekittygirl ya think?? there were a ton and everyone had their faves. i'm so honored you like them especially since you are so great at photography. :)
