March

This must be one of my favorite weeks of the year. Not only is today the day of the March equinox - which means it's the 'official' start of spring if you live in the northern hemisphere, and of fall if you live in the southern hemisphere - but I also have my birthday coming up tomorrow.

I can't think of a better birthday gift than the start of the new gardening season... My seeds are sprouting, the birds are chirping, and my garden comes to life again.

Would there a more perfect day of the year to launch the new edition of the SteemIt Community Garden Journal Challenge? I don't think so! :0)

Let's celebrate this change of season (ánd my birthday) by sharing our (indoor) garden/balcony updates with each other and see how much has changed compared to last month.

As always, you have the chance to put a smile on other people's face, earn a share of the Steem-Bounty I set on this post and maybe even win one of the prizes.

You can use the links below to check out the previous editions:

Finally, I have some things going on again myself. After a long, cold and rainy winter, the propagator is buzzing again and the first seeds have sprouted. I can't wait to show you the cute, little baby plants that will give us the gift of delicious, home-grown food during the next couple of months.

A Shoutout To Our Previous Contributors.

We've had different gardeners joining this challenge in every new edition. The participants' base follows the seasons in the different parts of the world. Since spring/fall is starting, I assume that a lot of gardeners throughout the world have things going on, and can't wait to see all updates.

During the February edition, we could enjoy the garden updates of

@porters, @alphaccino.art, @travoved, @cloudblade, @phyowinkoko, @biffybirdcam, @sifondeseltz, @london65 and @abitcoinskeptic.

In the comments section, you could see that for some people, February was just a little too soon. I wonder if March would be a better time for them.

@xcountytravelers, @plantstoplanks, @sipahikara, @blockurator, @fionasfavourites, how are your gardens/balconies/porches doing? And @frejafri - how's the new life in Denmark?

I'd like to invite all of you to post a new update.

This challenge is open for everyone who is growing plants or crops - indoors or outdoors.

If you haven’t joined before, feel free to start now. The more the merrier! There are plenty of people who are enjoying to see what's going on in other people's garden, farm or balcony.

Hello and nice to see you again. I'm participating as well, here is my entry Onions And Garlic - Gardening Report

Happy Birthday @simplymike!

It's a little early yet, since it has been an unusually cold winter around here... the last piles of snow from our "snowpocalypse" back in early February only just melted, so there isn't really much of anything with "life" in it yet that I can share. Mostly everything has that flat/brown look that goes with growth having been weighed down by snow for a while...

But here's a little sign of spring; these were sheltered from most of the snow by a large tree...

Little signs are enough to keep the hopes up 😙

These are my tomatoes. They've improved quite well lately. I will harvest them and eat them beautifully. I thank you for your support in gardening and farming.

Wow, those are quite some tomatoes you have there... :0)

Hello! Here is my entry to the challenge :) I wish it's not too late.

You were on time, it was me who was not home to upvote your post before the @steem-bounty paid out. I'm sorry for that. All participants received about 0.5 Steem for their entry comment, so I will just send the same amount to your wallet.

You were definitely in time to join the contest - I accept all entries that are posted before I publish the winners post - of which I hope I can do so tomorrow.

Thanks for entering. I gave your post a 100% upvote and will read it in a minute. Those little tomato plants look awesome!

Nonono ... @simplymike, you are too kind! You didn't have to send me 0.5 Steem ... even I didn't or still don't understand the @steem-bounty system ;) It was simply fun for me to write about my small indoor garden. Thank you a lot for hosting this wonderful gardeners' gathering on Steemit :)
