The house at the end of the street - Chapter 23 - Original fiction (Previous chapters at the end of post)
The few days that Jack and Sarah spent together while Matt had to work, they had so much fun. The contractors were nearly done with the rest of the house and they had some time to go see a few movies and once even went to an art museum. It seemed like they had so much in common and they got along great. Sarah couldn't wait for the next visit and they sat and made a list of all the things they wanted to do when he came to visit again.
On the days that she was busy with wedding arrangements, Jack stayed at home and kept himself busy. He was such an easy child and Sarah wondered if their baby was also going to be like Jack. She was slowly starting to get used to the idea of being pregnant and even though she felt better she was still not sure what exactly she was going to do about the baby. She has felt much more open to the idea ever since Jack came to visit but keeping the baby was still very far from an option.
Daphne arrived the next day and Sarah could see the excitement in her eyes when they stopped in front of the house. Jack was a real gentleman and opened the car door for Daphne, and he carried her bags upstairs to her room. Daphne couldn't believe how much work was done to the house in the last few weeks since she had left. Sarah prepared a special thanksgiving dinner for them and the four of them had a lovely evening by candlelight in the dining room. It was amazing how happy and content everyone was and it was the perfect evening.
Daphne brought some old photo-albums with her and they all sat together having coffee in the sitting room looking at the old photos. They were all tired after a long day and went to bed shortly after. It was only two days before the wedding and there was still a lot to do the following day.
Matt and Jack booked into a hotel the next day so they could spend the night before the wedding away from the house. The wedding planner came in that afternoon to set up everything and Sarah and Daphne went out to dinner later after picking up her wedding dress.
They were both so very excited and spent the whole evening going over the last details to make sure everything on the list was ticked off. Daphne wanted to order some champagne but Sarah denied the offer. She told her that she did not want to have a headache on her wedding day and Daphne understood although she was a little disappointed.
They were absolutely stunned when they arrived home while the wedding planner was doing the final touch-up on the table. Everything looked absolutely amazing and Sarah knew that her mother would approve if she was there.
Sarah lay in bed thinking that it was her last night ever to be single and once again her thoughts jumped to the baby. How her life hasn't changed in the last three months, and she would never have been able to do all of this, if it wasn't for Rich. She still missed him some days but she knew that he was in a much happier place now and that he would approve of what she had done with his money. She looked forward to spending her life with Matt and she was absolutely sure that he was the perfect man for her. She turned around and fell asleep.
Daphne woke her up very early the next morning with breakfast in bed and then they were off to the spa to get their nails and hair done. Sarah couldn't believe that she was getting married today. It was one of the happiest days of her life. By five o clock that evening, she would be married to the man of her dreams and she would be Mrs Matt Laricy .

Cool, I need to read from the first chapter I think
Quite well written, I liked it
@giantbear your story is such a part of my life. I look forward to reading it and it never fails to touch me. I appreciate how everything is turning out and like the book "Great Expectations" all the pieces are coming together. Thank-you for sharing something you love with us to love a good story! Again, we really appreciate all your efforts in your busy life!
Aha!!! Old Daphne is going to put on the old freaky-deaky with little Jackie boy! I knew it, I knew something weird was going to happen sooner or later (is Jack the serial killer? He seduces elderly ladies and whacks them huh???)
My next story will be all bloody and gory! Just leave this one to be what it is...a relaxing story with a happy ending....lol
I got one question... Did Jack's dress match Sarah's???
