How To Help New People Succeed on the STEEM Blockchain

Do you know about the amazing recent effort to help new steemians by all around good guy, @crypto.piotr? He decided to help our newest members overcome the rc issue we forked into, and you can see the huge need he found and filled here:

A few weeks ago, @crypto.piotr called for tiny fish to come and get help so they could post and comment here, and 100’s answered the call. Then he MANUALLY reviewed all their accounts and delegated sp to those he thought could succeed.

Many new people are now able to comment and post on steemit and the dapps due to @crypto.piotr helping them. He has now given a challenge for the rest of us to help them more and @bxlphabet and @fitinfun are on it.

@crypto.piotr has a challenge on the post above for the rest of us to follow and support some of those new people.

At the same time, he challenged the people he helped to join together and help each other in a Quest. They had to follow ten of the other new people and make good comments to win the Quest. Those who did succeed posted in a comment to @crypto.piotr’s post and that is how I found them.

When I looked at @crypto.piotr’s post a few day ago about 15 of those new people had met the challenge and posted comments. I am now going through those “winners” and helping them more. It’s going to take a few posts to do this since I do not have the strength and ability of @crypto.piotr.

Here are the first people I am choosing who deserve attention. A critical feature for me was to see regular posting before I will support an account. All of these people are posting reqularly, and some of the others are not quite up to speed.

So this is a group of real winners.

The first two blogs are very active here and I know them already.

@wakeupkitty

I know @wakeupkitty from her regular freewrites and many comments she has left on my posts. I recommended one of her freewrites in the weekly freewitehouse contest by @mariannewest because it was well done and interesting.

I can see that @wakeupkitty is here to stay. She’s trying all kinds of ideas and keeping very busy and engaged. I think of her as a good friend already.

@xcountytravelers

@xcountytravelers are a husband and wife team I already met through @nathanmars amazing dtube777family initiative. They are old like me, and wanderers like me, so I love them. They also welcome newcomers and learn, learn, learn.

I wish I had 10% of their energy, but I am happy to watch their adventures from afar. They’ve already had to set up a second account for themselves because they are so diverse here. Go watch some of their awesome vidoes and I know you will be impressed.

These next three are new to me.

@guruvaj

@guruvaj has found @actifit and is a teacher. He needs to get over to @steemiteducation, follow their rules, and he will be a hit with his education posts. the care he shows for his students and pride in their work gives me hope for the future.

@guruvaj has already been nominated in the @pifc by @thedarkhorse and getting votes on his posts, so he is well on his way to success. This is a very caring and interesting person I am glad to follow.

@andyjem

Here’s another team of two living on a Spanish island off the coast of Africa called Lanzarote. I have been to one of the islands near them called Las Palmas, and trust me when I tell you they are in paradise. It’s looks like we will be getting European news and commentary from this blog.

They have found @dlike and @partiko and @ulogs and are definitely people to watch. Great job!

@ajongcrypto

@ajongcrypto is a crypto guy doing a daily post of news about the coins. Excellent job on consistency and having a good niche for this place. Crypto news is a crowded field here, but I’m seeing votes on the posts, so that is very promising for a newcomer.

The final person I am showing on this post is not from @crypto.piotr’s project. Instead, he is someone I just recommended on a @sndbox initiative to welcome newcomers each Wednesday.

This is the first time I heard of this weekly @sndbox event, but I will be completing it from now on. @sndbox is giving a good upvote if they like your recommendation and I could sure use one. @artographer is a wonderful artist I found based on the contest rules, and I was happy to recommend him.

So now what?

I usually run two comments contests a month on my @fitinfun blog and give away shares in @steembasicincome as prizes. Until this project is done, I will be doing this instead of my contests. After all, @crypto.piotr has already done the work to find good people to support, so I may as well do so too.

• Each of these accounts will receive a share of sbi from either @fitinfun or @bxlphabet. This will give a lifetime upvote on every post you publish. It will have an account such as @sbi4 or @sbi5 etc and it will vote on your posts.

All of us know how important a guaranteed vote is around here, and now you have one. It will be very small to start with, but seek more shares in contests and it will grow over time. The @steembasicincome blog regularly publishes a huge list of contests to enter and moree apprear in their discord room each day.

I enter contests for sbi all the time and win often. Therefore my sbi vote on every post is now a pretty good one.

• @fitinfun and @bxlphabet will follow all of these steemers.

• Each blog will all get upvotes from our accounts, as soon as I can do it, but not now because our power is down on each account. But I will have this on my list to check on my new friends to vote for recent posts, and expect good things when I do.

Here are some random minnow tips to help you survive and thrive here:

• Post every day – this means (at least) one post every 24 hours
• If you do not know what to post - freewrite or find photo challenges to post to. This daily activity is needed to get you on track and into the habit of working here.
• Comment frequently on other people’s posts. Watch and learn what others do on posts you like, so you can do the same.
• Reply to 95% of the comments you get. Make this part of your daily routine. Do not ignore people you talk to you.
• Join the curation league of @abh12345 and learn how to vote.
• Watch your power on https://steemnow.com/@[yourblogname] and do not vote under 80%. I stay over 90%.
• Join Discord groups for anything you are doing and see a link for. Enter the rooms, drop your links as asked, visit other links people leave, and take advantage of any training. But do not chitter chatter in there. For every 10 words you type in Discord, type 500 out here where it matters.
• Check out the other dapps like @actifit, @partiko, @esteem @busy etc.
• If you like games – start playing @steemmonsters each day. This game has a lot of dedicated participants and is having a big push for members right now. See this post by @coruscate for details.
• Enter contests and challenges so people see you. When you post your own stuff to random tags, it will drop like a dead rock, so don’t bother. Post into other people's initiatives and they will be glad you are there, and you will make friends that way.
• If you want to make videos, and even if you don't, check out this intiative by @jongolson meant to help you get to 100 sp fast. This is a great first goal, and I know you will succeed faster by getting involved here.
• Go to the blog of @majes.tytyty if you have trouble with English or even if you don’t. He has a daily vocabulary post, and gives good upvotes if you complete a comment for it. He's also an all around nice guy and you can learn a lot from his blog and posts on how to succeed here.

Who are @bxlphabet amd @fitifun?

This is @fitinfun writing on my son @bxlphabet’s blog. I am a natural weight loss success story who tries to help others lose weight naturally too. I did not lose weight and get healthy until my son was in his late teens, and this is the biggest regret of my life.

My son @bxlphabet suffers from severe Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) due to what he went through as a child when I was so fat, sick, and near death all the time.

So that is why I do what I do, and also why he is not here right now.

I want no other family to ever go through what we have gone through.
