The Bow Bridge is a beautiful pedestrian walkway made of cast iron. At 87 feet (26.5 meters), it's the longest bridge of Central Park, the world-famous park located in the borough of Manhattan in New York City, New York State, United States.
La couleur verte du lac peut paraître charmante sur ces photos mais en fait, c'est le signe d'un problème pour la faune vivant dans le parc. Cette coloration est la conséquence d'un prénomène appelé efflorescence algale. L'apparence verdâtre est le résultat d'une rapide croissance de la population d'algues dans un bassin d'eau. L'efflorescence d'algues a même été rapporté comme causant la mort de poissons dans d'autres étangs des parcs de la ville de New York, alors qu'à l'intérieur de l'État plus large de New York, trois chiens seraient décédés dû à une exposition aux algues toxiques.
The lake's green color might appear as charming on these pictures but in fact, it is the sign of a problem for the wildlife living in the park. This coloration is the consequence of a phenomenon call algal bloom. The greenish look is the result of the fast-growing of an algae population in a body of water. Algae bloom has even been reported to cause the death of fishes in other New York City park ponds, while in the larger State of New York, three dogs are believed to have been the mortal victim of exposure to toxic pond algae.
