Linny draws an Elven Ranger
Hello Steemians!
This is part of my Learning to Draw: Dungeons and Dragons Series.
I'm recreating my teammates from my first and only DnD campaign I was involved in early 2017. The end goal is to republish a video I made for them that I remain so fond of. I used copyrighted images previously because I didn't draw. The next piece in my series: The Elven Ranger.
This was really hard.
I started Saturday morning and it was not going well at all. My husband is my critic on all my creative works. He edits all my writing pieces, but since he cannot draw at all, I get him to give me a score. If I get to 7/10 by his not-so-high standards, then I will post. This is the feedback I got from the family:
Husband: "His head is off..."
Yes, the head looked misaligned to me too...
Husband: "What did you do to him? He looks sleazy!"
Okay, fair point, even I had to agree...
Husband: "Now, he looks like a drug addict!"
Grrrr....
Husband: "Looks like someone bashed him."
Right, I overdid the shading of the angles of his face.
Husband: "His mouth looks weird."
I got fed-up after multiple attempts trying to fix this, so I gave him a mask...
Me 24 hours later: "I'm so sick of this, I am sooooo not into him!!!"
Yep, even I thought my Elf was lame.
Twin 1: "He looks like a girl!"
Twin 2: "He looks evil!"
My 8 y.o daughters agreed... - sigh-
Husband: "His hair looks like lego man..."
-Me laughing-
And my personal favorite...
Husband: "He looks like Homer Simpson!"
I totally went a bit overboard with the stubble to make him less girly and more manly! :(
ANYWAY, it got to Sunday evening (now) and I've had enough. So I'm posting. I've included his Dragonborn teammate too, which is what I'll be doing each time I finish a new one in the series. Hope you all at least got a chuckle from my drawing misadventures! hehehehe
In my drawing quest, I still have a Dwarf, a Rogue, a Halfing Bard, a Drow Priestess, a Lich....and yeah, the Geisha....

Anyway, enough about me, below are my shout-outs to the bloggers, communities and witnesses I want to support!
I kick off every list with my favorite Steemian. Kind, funny and supportive, she recently won a prize for her entry in @comedyopenmic Round 17. I was thrilled for her, but more so for her DJ Diva Cat. I know it's actually her cat, soju, who does all her science posts. Here is her winning entry.
This lady is fast becoming a favorite Steemian. Sensitive and lots of fun, she writes both considerate and serious articles, is an artist and a comedian. Looks like she took a steemit posting break, which we can all do with -- except me, I don't post enough! Please go have a read and check out her blog too.
This is one of the most active community spirits I've met. She's always thinking about others. Also, I've had many 'firsts' on Steemit, and simgirl was the first person online to ever attempt to give me money!! lol. I jokingly told her I was too much of a cheapskate to buy a starter pack for Steemmonsters. She sent me 3 SBD to help me out! I was rather stunned when I got the alert for the transaction... Anyway, I quickly sent the money back, but here have a read. I encourage you to pop over and give this Steemian some love for her good will.
(Ps to @simgirl: I bought those cards, I'm not exactly sure what I am supposed to do with them, but darnit, I didn't get a legendary!! - crying-)
I found this lady through the @guiltyparties regular highlights post. First off, please do support this witness who is committed to the betterment of Veterans and those still serving. Anyway, Ivy (socent) writes sensitive posts about life and the many challenges we face. Here is a more fun one that is worth a read too. It's her first experience with a DnD campaign, so if you have any ideas for her character's backstory, go drop a comment!
Also another Veteran and a very talented artist. Apparently, when he first joined Steemit, he was under the impression, and I quote: "when I first joined steemit that the platform was more interested in light whimsical art and cartoons than serious stuff, so I decided to flap my little art wings in that direction instead." He's switched some gears and now posts some seriously intense artwork. Definitely worth checking out if you have a moment.
Andrades is a Spanish Poet and recently started posting his pieces in English! I always find them an interesting read when get the time to visit Here is one that I plan to read and ponder over soon!
If you're not immediately gushing over such a desirable username, then next time you think to whine on Steemit, just watch this video, Vlad had a bad day.... That's all I can say...lol

The curies were lovely, but it’s more that I need to put my real posts somewhere noticeable. There’s simply not enough of my own stuff to make an impact! If work ever chills, I’ll try to do better with posting productivity. But glad you laughed, so did the family when I played it back to them. You’re right, it was so frustrating at the time.

Yes, it’s hard to visit all the steemit bloggers that interest us. But I do make a point to drop into a Veteran blog at least once a week. I wish I could do more, but I’m random at best and it’s also hectic on my end. As long as more of us are trying to support the Vets, that’s the main thing. But you’re always filling your blog up with sensitive and thoughtful content, so I know there’s always something good to read when I visit!
The Veteran community thanks you for your support! I do all that I can to support my friends there because they are really an awesome and diverse group of men and women. I like your once a week plan and I should probably implement that too. And thank you for such a wonderful compliment.

You're so funny anouky boob! hehehhehe. I deliberately dropped a lot of discord communities again. As I mentioned to Amir and the buddha, I am a little stressed out by work, see my more recent post. I'll most likely be back once the project is delivered and things calm. So for now, I'll visit your steemit posties to stay in touch. I've been reading them and liking them. I was really touched by a few of your recent posts tbh, that friendship one was lovely. I always start typing a response but then it gets so long-winded and my brain is too tired to recheck what I wrote, so I don't end up submitting. I also caught a few of your other comments, but at the time, too tired to respond properly. For the time being, you fight off all the fake boobies okay! The forgetting to finish a comment, totally me too.. I have that sometimes when I open it on my phone, and then continue on the laptop oops.. nothing personal though.. just too much going on at once and then I forget...
It's good to take a break when you feel there's too much going on.. Like you may have noticed, before my friend arrived I posted that one about friendship, after that only photo /short posts ;) Tomorrow boyfriend back to work and she'll be back in Holland, so I'll have more time then to write..
I've collected some awesome pictures, even went to the thermal spa a few days ago, and got a massage! Because everything was like one big knot :( So I guess this week I'll have plenty post material haha.. And there's an (I believe) awesome and hilarious COM entry on the way.. drawings are finished for it (kudo's to my friend hehe) only the writing needs to be done.. maybe tonight or maybe tomorrow, depends...

I considered doing the Procreate playback, only it was so bad, so best not. I’ll do the drawing vid one day when I’m better. Lol
I still have so many things planned for you and that devious cat, which actually includes a comic, but so many things I want to do. I should put a Steemit to-do list together and publish that as a post!

Oooo Soju in a comic. Dam Soju, she is becoming popular and getting a lot of many firsts. She is growing up!! Next thing you know, she'll be wanting to move out! lol
HAHAHA Yes I have been quiet, busy and also not that motivated lately. Steemauto is pretty cool, helps to not miss upvotes and continue to support your regulars when you are not online. I had set up extra auto upvotes before I started getting more busy and knew I wouldn't be on much. hahaha thanks for the auto-0.01 blessing :) A blessing is better than no blessing lol as long as you get something in return, provided when I post something lol.
