Zen Colouring Contest #33 - Winners Showcase!

Hello Everybody!

The time you have all been waiting for has arrived! Week 33 of #zencolouringcontest ended yesterday, and now to announce the winners!

So without further ado, let's get on with the show(case)!

Firstly lets announce the new 'Community Favourite' prize winner voted for by a couple of admirers and entrants for the contest,

This entry was a common favourite among the voters in the Gallery of Entries post and Discord Server.

In 3rd place:

@rachelcreative

I picked this one because of the bright and vibrant shades of green mixed with the subtle addition of black and blue within the details. The black segments especially highlight the pattern in a lot of place. The green glow that surrounds the design not only creates a good effect but helps contrast between the bright stencil and dark background!

In 2nd place:

@oliviackl

I chose this one because of the immense amount of detail and effort used in colouring with pencil and shading with gradients. The colours of the rainbow blend so well together and in turn create a beautiful pattern. The 6 distinctive outer sections being coloured the majority of one colour, but all different to one another, creates a sense that they are the totems of the portal gate and the rainbow mixture of the portal itself are entwined when those totems combine!

And in 1st place:

I picked this one as the winner because of the depth in detail of shading. The way that the colours blend with one another within each section creates an ornamental glass like texture that is refracting light into rainbows. The symmetry of colouring is very striking and the pattern created by the use of yellow in the details of the portal ring is eye catching. I really like how the green, pink and yellow ripples toward the center golden spiral of the design. The background used also accentuates the pattern beautifully!
