Project details

(This part is the same as in my previous post. So, I will just quote it from my first report)

The project that I have taken charge of is OroCommerce.

As described, OroCommerce is another revolutionary product from the team that knows the blend of Commerce and Customer Management. OroCommerce is the only true B2B eCommerce platform built with out-of-the-box features and ultimate flexibility.

There are several noticeable features that I want to point out here. Firstly, it helps users build their online presence. It doesn't matter if you're digitizing your catalog, building a customer portal, or rolling out a complete B2C or B2B eCommerce strategy. You will expand your business into new markets with an online and mobile presence.

Additionally, it gets eCommerce & CRM All-in-One. People can use the built-in CRM to gain a 360-degree view of all customer touch-points. To be more specific, sales, marketing, customer support, and eCommerce teams all will be on the same page.

Finally, it is a platform for All Your Commerce. Indeed, it addresses all B2B, B2C, and B2X (B2B2B, B2B2C, etc.) scenarios in a single platform regardless if you're a manufacturer, distributor, wholesaler, retailer, or brand.

As a translator of the project, I have a great chance to have a deep understanding of its values and its complexity. I believe it is an incredibly active environment where Vietnamese enterprises can keep and attract more customers, thereby making more profits. I think it is somehow beneficial for Vietnamese readers to broaden their knowledge by learning the platform. Sometimes, there are several difficult terms but my other team members especially the Language Moderator and I have conferred to find the most appropriate translated words, resulting in a quality translation.

Contribution Specifications

  • Translation Overview:
This is my 6th translation for OroCommerce project. My motivation is that I desire to be able to help Vietnamese community access enormous knowledge from overseas in the role of a translator. I hope that my work will help Vietnamese citizens especially employees working for different enterprises have a deep understanding of the platform through reading the document. I also strongly believe in the concept of open source and in helping each other.

My work involves a translation of OroCommerce from English to Vietnamese. This time, I had to deal with several parts of the project. Thanks to that, I could somehow imagine clearly about what I've been taking care of and understood more about the marketing field. However, there were some terminologies that I was concerned a bit with, so I had to look them up in the specialized dictionary and went to the Internet to obtain more information and search for the exact Vietnamese meanings of the words translated. Additionally, I asked Carlpei for some suggestions to make sure the strings translated were correct.

Here are some examples of my work done that may interest you:

_PO number: Số đặt hàng

A Purchase Order (PO) is a document generated by the buyer in order to authorize a purchase transaction. A PO Number uniquely identifies a purchase order and is generally defined by the buyer. The buyer will match the PO number in the invoice to the Purchase Order.

_Check/Money Order: Đặt theo séc/tiền

According to grammarist.com, In American English, check is the standard spelling of the noun referring to a written order for a bank to pay a specified amount from deposited funds. Outside the U.S., the word is spelled cheque. But cheque is confined to this very narrow banking-related sense. All varieties of English use check for the many non-banking-related senses of the word—including (1) a restraint, (2) a pattern of small squares, (3) to halt, and (3) to inspect for accuracy or correctness.

_Invoice: Hóa đơn

In businesses, invoices, bill, and receipt are three different terms used while purchasing and selling goods and services. ... A vendor would send an invoice after purchasing the goods or services along with the amount owed, then the vendor will send a receipt after receiving the payment from the invoice.

Difference between an invoice, a bill and a receipt (Source):

Invoice
An invoice is an itemized list of products sold or services provided, along with the amount of money owed for each line item, and the total amount of money owed. An invoice is sent from the biller to the client, in hopes of being paid within a certain amount of time.

Bill
A bill is something you, as a customer must pay. A bill is an invoice in that it has the itemized list of products sold or services provided, along with the amount of money owed for each item, and a total amount owed. However, when you receive an invoice, you would enter it as a bill that you owe. In other words, an invoice is sent, and a bill is received.

Receipt
A receipt is different from an invoice in that an invoice is requesting payment for products or services received, whereas a receipt is proof that the services or products have already been paid for. An invoice comes before the payment has been made, while a receipt comes after the payment has been made.

Differences
So, if you are a vendor, you would send an invoice after a service has been completed and money is owed, and then you would send a receipt after you receive the payment from the invoice. On the other hand, if you are a customer, the invoice you receive is your bill, and then you will receive a receipt once you pay your bill.

Invoice is sent → Customer receives it as a bill → Payment is made → Receipt

Thank you for your contribution to the Davinci-Utopian translation project @lecongdoo3. This is your 59th contribution to the translation category.

This project is very similar to your last project, OroCRM. You are doing a great job of translating OroCommerce. I have been assigned as a proofreader for OroCommerce and thus I can approve your translation now.

IIn this translation, you are using the correct words and the layout is well structured, it has a logical flow and uses correct punctuation. However, there was an error in your translation and then I sent you a message via Discord. On my second time proofreading, I noticed that you already fixed the error that I mentioned. Thank you for your co-operation.

I don't see any spelling mistakes in your post and it is easy to understand. Thank you for providing what you have learned during your translation for the readers and for your effort to improve your post. I am happy to see that you also included the source of the images and data in your post.

Welcome back from your holidays!
