This week we had 4 contributions and 3 were upvoted by Utopian.
The average score was 68.7 (which is quite good). One contribution was made by @blockchainstudio, who is contributing again (if you remember from my previous report, he made a nice contribution last week) and we had 2 contributions made by @edicted.
Also, we had a (huge) Staff pick!
I had a bad busy week, so all the contributions were reviewed by @knowledges.
Check the contest! This Staff pick will bring some competition to the current round!
Remember that upvotes are never guaranteed.

Common mistakes and how to fix them

source

The aim of this section is to show you the most common mistakes found this week. Followed by a short description and tips when applicable. Usually, I split the section in two: Contributions with a score of 25 or less and Contributions with a score of 50 or less.

1 - Contributions with a score of 25 or less

1.1 - Project idea with no actual code

Project ideas with no actual code are not a valid type of contribution on Utopian.
Suggestions contribution has to be for an existing project that has code on the project Github repository.

2 - Contributions with a score of 50 or less

2.1 - The suggested idea is duplicated

This is not easy to spot, so do not rush and take few minutes to check it.
Go to the repository of the project and check the Issues Tracker.
Remove the is:open filter from the search field (to look for open and closed issues).
Write a word (or two). The keyword(s) of the feature(s) you are going to submit.
After that, look at if someone submitted it on Utopian in the past, you can use this great tool made by @crokkon.

Interesting open source projects

source

In case that you want to contribute on the Suggestions category but do not know any project, check this list.

1 - Tower

Tower is a solution to expose the Hivemind's database as REST API interface. You can have a look at the documentation at tower.emrebeyler.me, and the base URL for the API is: https://tower.emrebeyler.me/api/v1/ [Source]
Repository: https://github.com/emre/tower
Website: tower.emrebeyler.me

2 - PrestaShop

PrestaShop is an Open Source e-commerce web application, committed to providing the best shopping cart experience for both merchants and customers. It is written in PHP, is highly customizable, supports all the major payment services, is translated in many languages and localized for many countries, has a fully responsive design (both front and back office), etc. [Source]
Website: www.prestashop.com
Repository: https://github.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop

3 - uBlock

An efficient blocker add-on for various browsers. Fast, potent, and lean.
uBlock Origin is NOT an "ad blocker": it is a wide-spectrum blocker -- which happens to be able to function as a mere "ad blocker". The default behavior of uBlock Origin when newly installed is to block ads, trackers and malware sites -- through EasyList, EasyPrivacy, Peter Lowe’s ad/tracking/malware servers, various lists of malware sites, and uBlock Origin's own filter lists.

Another great report from you! As usual, The report contains every necessary information in the Suggestions category. It's great that the category received a high-quality contribution that deserves to be staff picked. Kudos to @edicted for the excellent contribution. Also, your tips are always amazing and useful. Thanks for providing and keep up the great work!

Please note that while the CM hasn't changed the footer, I am not scoring #iamutopian posts based on the questionnaire. They have their own metric, and that will be the case until we go live with the new guidelines and new questionnaire, which will be comprehensive enough to reflect these types of posts.

Your contribution has been evaluated according to Utopian policies and guidelines, as well as a predefined set of questions pertaining to the category.
