Wednesday Walk - Shop Front Reflections

Shop Front Reflections Along Western Road, Brighton - II

My original Shop Reflections compilation was inspired by @dswigle's Market Friday Post.

If you missed it you can find out more about either by clicking on the links. 😁

This set of photographs I took with @tattoodjay's weekly 'Wednesday Walk' challenge in mind.

The idea of the challenge is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see, within a short distance of your home, office or wherever you start.

For more information see his latest Wednesday Walk post where he offers some guidelines.

So here we go. Let's start with an . . .

An Upmarket Cheese Shop

What are those round black things. Too expensive for me to find out. I know that much! 😁

A Traditional English Pub

I couldn't post shops from a High Street in England without including a good old traditional pub.

I hope you enjoyed a little peep into some of the shops that are available within 5 minutes of my home.

This is just a small selection of what is available. There's never a dull moment in this walk.

@gillianpearce, Good sightseeing tour. I would definitely visit this antique shop :)

You'd like Brighton and Hove then @madlenfox, if you like antique shops. There are plenty here and also markets that sell antiques which, personally, I find more interesting. 😊

Back a few years ago the PUb would have been the one i would have had ot pop into, these days it would be the poster and map store

Such a cool selection of store windows

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk tip!

Ha. ha. ha. @tatoodjay. I'd forgotten which shops I'd included and had to go back and check.

Since I actually walk along that road frequently I supposed I can judge my favourite by how many times I've been in the particular shop.

I've been in the cheese shop once when a foodie friend came to visit from Glasgow. Considering how expensive it is I thought the service would be impeccable, instead we were served by an arrogant, disinterested person. I won't go in there again and neither will my foodie friend.

I've been in the dry cleaners a couple of times in twenty years.

However, I've been in the Wick Inn on a number of occasions. They have a very reasonably priced and good quality Thai restaurant upstairs, plus the beer is good.

So, the pub's the winner! 😂

Thank you for the tip. 😍

@gillianpearce I would never go back to a shop with that kind of service, I find some shops like that so stuck up there surely not for me

not the pub sounds my kind of place ;)

Hey, @gillianpearce.

Looks like all kinds of places for different tastes. No way I'm seeing that many shops and restaurants within five minutes walking of my house. I'd be pressed to see all that within five minutes driving. :)

re: the round black things

The round black things, as it turns out, are made by Shorrocks Cheese and are called Lancashire bombs. They come in different flavors with corresponding colors, and they come in a couple of different sizes (the other flavors just come in one).

A bit from the website:

Our famous Lancashire Bomb is a real culinary treat and must be tasted to be believed. The bombs are so popular due to the very creamy and full flavoured taste which leaves you wanting more.

Well spotted glenalbrethsen. I didn't notice the label. 😂

They actually sound quite interesting. If I'm ever in Lancashire I will have to look out for them where they may be more abundant. I'm not willing to buy them from this local shop!

Awesome thank you for allowing us to get a glimpse of the shops close to you!

You are welcome @michellereneekid. It was a really fun post to write. 😊

Thank you for the resteem. 😁

I have to go into the resturant , im a foodie. Anything that says brunch, I must go! 🤗😁😁

I think it must have changed hands recently @persius as I've not noticed the brunch sign before.

Maybe I will check it out as I love a good brunch too! 😁

Great pics!

Best regards.

Peace.

Thank you @spiritualmatters. Glad you liked them. Thanks for stopping by. 😊
