My Life's Journey - The Adventures of Dama(our cat) Part 2steemCreated with Sketch.

What to say guys really? Dama has scared the crap out of us again, but from what you have read in the first story I have written about her, she is a survivor. If you are just joining and reading about Dama's adventures you can catch up with the story about her in Part 1 of The Adventures Of Dama stories.

https://steemit.com/tsufamily/@awakentolife/my-life-s-journey-the-adventures-of-dama-our-cat-part-1

As many of you know already from the first story this is Dama. She has become an irreplaceable member of our family and we really thought we lost her this time as she has been gone for 5 days. She truly is an amazing family member. Even though she scares my mom sometimes by bringing dead mouses she caught to her bed in the mornings. It is like she is saying hey look I did my job. Can you imagine how this is for my mom as she wakes up, turns to the side, opens her eyes, and sees a dead mouse next to her? lol. Dama is a cat who just keeps on giving. Same as like this story I am going to tell you now.

So about 4 weeks ago I got a call from my mom telling me about how Dama is missing and she is a bit worried about her. My mom has truly got fond of her as she was given to her by our aunt 2 years ago. But, I told her not to worry as she has done this before and returned every time after a day. Usually, when she gets hungry. She is a pretty cat, and she probably went on an adventure with some boy cat and having a good time. lol So I really did not bother much about it.

As 3 days have passed this was nothing like Dama we know. She always comes back for dinner. So I went to my mom's house to look around our house and neighborhood to search for her. When I got to my mom's house she already alerted the neighbors to look for her. She even "bribed" the local kids with ice cream to help find her as the kids often play around her house. I drove around calling her name because she usually comes running because she thinks there is some treats or food for her involved. lol

As I drove around for couple hours and asked around if anyone has seen her I came back home empty handed. Various scenarios ran through our heads. Somebody stole her, or she got hit by a car or got poisoned. It is the only way we can make sense how she didn't return home jet. As she always does. I really felt bad for my mom because she has had this happen to her before. Bad moments, always bring out bad past experiences.

Knowing Dama from the first part I wrote about her we all know she is a survivor. So I kept those thoughts in my head. She is a survivor, and she will come back to us yet again. My mom and I prepared to supper, but it was a quiet one. We were missing somebody. Whenever we eat Dama's is around the table meowing and touching our legs under the table asking us to share some food. Who can blame her? She is part of the family now. Families do share everything.

In my mind, I just kept believing she will return to us yet again. Like in certain situations in life all we have left is BELIEF that things will get better and everything will be ok. Belief helps us carry on even when the odds are against us, and when it seems like everything is lost.

Before I went back to my dad's house, I decided to look around my mom's house one last time hoping I will spot Dama somewhere. Looked everywhere again, but nothing. But, one spot of the house I would go to I would get a "weird" vibe. Not sure how to explain it. It was in the back of the house. You know like when you think about somebody and the next minute or so the person you were thinking about calls you on the phone. Just a weird feeling. But unfortunately, I did not find her even though I felt she is somewhere around. This is the exact spot I was standing on and exactly what I was seeing. So you can envision it all also.

2017-09-08-01-45-08.jpg

The fourth day has passed, and Dama is jet to be found. The neighbors could not find her, we could not find her, she was nowhere to be found. We were truly losing hope that we will ever see her yellow eyes again and her meowing around us while we are having lunch or dinner. Not an easy thought to bear as she is family to us. Our family had animal "family" members pretty much all our lives.

But, like in life, miracles and great things happen when we least expect them. And, yet again, life has taught us all about these great things and miracles happening when we are about to lose hope. On the 5th day, as my mom was getting some stuff from the back of the house she heard a faint meow. She started calling her name. I thought my mom was losing it a bit as I was not far from where she was standing and I could not hear anything. lol

As my mom kept calling her name, the faint meow got louder and I could hear it now. Remember the picture above where I told to help envision the area I was standing at? Looking at a certain direction and getting that "weird" feeling. This is exactly where the meow was coming from. How weird is that? The more my mom called out to her the more she was directing us toward her. Finally, we localized where her meows were coming and we found her.

You will not believe here where she was for the past 5 days. A way in the back where I was looking at the other day we had an old credenza. Dama was probably chasing a mouse to bring as a gift for my mom in the morning, but the mouse got better of her this time. lol She jumped into the credenza door, and the door slammed shut behind her. She could not get out. Incredible. She was stuck in there for 5 days, my friends.

Collage 2017-09-08 01_43_53.jpg

As soon as my mom opened the door she jumped out like she has never jumped out before, but not to our arms though.lol She went straight to her water and food bowls. I can't even imagine how hungry and thirsty she was after being stuck in there for 5 days. She ate and drank a lot. We stopped her from eating and drinking too much as it can be a shock for her body after not eating or drinking anything for 5 days. After she was properly fed and hydrated she jumped into my mom's arms and properly thanked her for saving her. I got to admit there was some man "tears" shed seeing this. lol I can admit it I teared up. lol We missed her, and we wanted to pet her all day, but she needed rest to recover. So we left her to sleep on her favorite couch in my mom's veranda. She curled up and basically was a zombie for 2 days only waking up to eat and drink.

2017-09-08-02-13-36.jpg

Sooner than later she was back to chasing mouses around our backyard and bringing presents to my mom in the morning. And, occasionally joining us for dinner, lunch, or whenever we have a snack. There she is meowing and curving around our legs, and we are happy she is back there again. A member of our family has returned. :)

Dama has jet again defied the odds and reaffirmed herself as a survivor and a fighter. Just like a miraculous recovery story from a part 1 of Adventures of Dama. I am becoming a true believer the cats have 9 lives. Dama is a true testament to the theory. This cat has survived some incredible situations in her life so far. And, I am sure this is not the last time we I will we write about her adventures as she is a daredevil.

For me, the weirdest part of this story is the "weird" feeling I was getting on the spot I was standing in the back of my mom's house. Somehow I knew she was there somewhere even though I did not find her that day. I truly believe all animals and people are connected on certain frequencies just like radio waves. That is why sometimes we start thinking about someone right before they are going to call us. We are receiving their call before it actually happens. Or, maybe I am just a bit crazy. lol Let me know what you guys think either way? I truly hope I am not crazy. lol

The moral of this story

Don't ever lose hope, and always keep BELIEVING. Because amazing things happen in our lives if we just keep BELIEVING. Sometimes life just likes to wait until the last minute, keep us on the edge, and then give us a gift such as finding DAMA again when we almost lost all hope we will see her again. As I am incredibly happy Dama is back it could of all went the other way also. So my friends love one another, give and show love to your loved ones. Because you never know what might happen in the future because life is one big unpredictable road, and it can throw "curves" at us at any time with no "signs" of the curves coming.

Let me know what you think about this Dama story. Would love to hear some feedback from you. See you guys in the comment section.

Have an amazing day all. Sending you much love,

So glad to hear that she returned!

We had something similar happen to a cat at my parent's home one time. My dad had been constructing a shed to put his tools in, and he had built up the walls and just covered them with paneling. We heard something one day coming from inside one of the walls, and my dad pried the paneling off to discover one of our cats. She had evidently been climbing to the top, and there was still a hole where she fell down into the space between the walls.

We made sure she got food and water because we weren't sure how long she had been there. I can't say I ever had a feeling about her being there, but it was still very fortunate that she made noise at the right time when my dad was in his building.

Glad you were reunited! Thanks for sharing the story.

They are daredevils like Dama. They sleep on the edges of 20 minutes walls and climb the walls with a lot of danger involved with climbing. They are really not afraid to try anything. lol I have heard many crazy stories about my friend's cats dangerous adventures. So I ask myself why in the hell they do this? And, the simple answer is that they CAN. lol

Hey bro,

I'm so happy for you that Dama is back, I can't even bring myself to think how she felt trapped for 5 days.

WOW ..

Yes, I bet it was horrible. I am just not sure why she did not make more sounds for us to find her as we walked by that area many times in those 5 days. Anyways, not really important. We are just glad she is back and well now. :)

Thanks for stopping by brother. :)

I've really enjoyed reading both of your stories about Dama... She is quite an amazing cat! I hope she has many more lives left over. ;)

Because I know about Dama now, I think you will also enjoy reading about the cat that lived next door to us many years ago:

"How I Was Captured by a Surprisingly Unusual Cat"

Thank you for sharing your stories about Dama!

😄😇😄

@creatr

I sure hope she does because she keeps giving us scares. Would not like to lose her. As she is a truly amazing cat. :)

Thank you again for reading. I will have to catch with your stories. Especially this one about the cat. See you in your comment section. :)

Have an amazing day. :)

Beautiful cat by the way, ha ha...

She truly is beautiful. Probably more in person than on pictures. :)

Such is usually the case...

Durko, I am falling in love with Dama too, I am a cat person even though I love dogs too, but cats are just somehow more mysterious lol. We had two cats, but one of them was old and got sick, so we had to spare her of the pain she was going through by taking her to veterinarian and say goodbye. It was truly heartbreaking, but she had a good and long life. She looked little bit like Dama, but she liked to to eat too much and got chubby lol. Our Yogi is black and white and he lives with my younger daughter. He gain weight too since we moved, because he can't go out anymore, since my daughter lives in condo. However, I have lots of experience with cats so I can relate to your stories very well. If Dama will continue to be such a daredevil, you should write a book for older kids "THE NINE LIVES OF DAMA" or there could be even a video game. Seriously, your stories are really captivating, I just hope Dama will always return from the troubles she gets herself into lol. UPV, RSD & tip!

Cats are at least to say mysterious. Incredibly intelligent and loyal. I wish many people were like cats actually as they tell you exactly what they feel. No hidding. No secrets. :)

I am sorry to hear about your other cat, but if she was in constant pain than it is for the best I guess. Even though, I bet it is not a great experience to say goodbye to somebody who was a big part of your life. At least you got to say goodbye to her in the right way. :)

If she continues like this I will have a best-seller on my hands. lol :) I am sure she is going to be up to something sooner than later. lol Hopefully, we will always be fortunate to be there for her when she gets herself into trouble. As teh thought in these 5 days as we thought we lost her were not plesant.

Thank you, my friend. I am glad you like my writting and the way I tell stories. I really try to get my readers to imagine like they were there with me looking for Dama. :)

Have an amazing day. Much love. xoxoxoxxoo

Definitely a best seller Durko, you are very good describing the situation and you also have a way to keeping us on the toes, metaphorically speaking. So keep writing Dama's stories, just make sure you always there when she needs to be saved. Much love to you and Dama XOXO

Nice story with perfect moral ... amazing things happen in our lives if we just keep Believing...life just likes to wait until the last minute... Thanks for posting.

Thank you @digitalking. Amazing things truly do happen when you BELIEVE. Unfortunately, life does like to keep us on our toes and waiting for the last minute. This life would be a great poker player. lol

Thank you for a great comment and for reading my story. I wish you a great day :)

Thats a great story and good moral never give up hope...thats great. Tip!

Never, never, never even if it all looks bad. Keep that little light shining and who knows what might happen in the future. :)

Thank you for the tip and lovely comment. Have an amazing day. :)

Hi, I have two now
the little one disappeared all day and was a great disgust, according to read your story thought that was partying with the lover, even thought that you would find kittens, but it has been a happy story
They are our family, I do not doubt it for a moment.

I have no doubt they are. Whenever they are returning to your home they know where their family is. We are not one of the owners who lock cats in the house and not let them out. We let Dama live as free as a bird. But, she always returns. Just like this time. :)

Thank you for a wonderful comment. Have an amazing day. :)

Glad you found her

Am a dog person myself, but still happy to upvote this!

Cheers

We had dogs and cats all our lives, but now we are down to one cat. Soon we will probably add dogs again. But, since I am traveling a lot it is hard to have a dog. :)

Thank you for stopping by my post. We are glad we found her also. Have an amazing day. :)

Can relate to that! My wife and I would love to have a dog, but it is a bit tricky with work so we haven't pulled the trigger yet.

And now we're having a baby next month - go figure...

Dog next for sure though!!

Cheers

Well, for me is if I don't have the time I don't want to take responsibility because I could not take care of the way I want my dog to be taken care of. Especially, now since my basketball preseason is going on and I barely have time to answer comments on Steemit. lol

That is amazing, my friend. Congratulations on becoming a father. Is it a boy or a girl? Or you are keeping it a surprise? Now that is one big responsibility. Is this your first kid?

Dogs are a great addition to families. Try to look for the ones who are great with kids.

Congratulations again from my heart. :)

Thanks - it's very exciting!

It's our first child an it's a boy

Cheers
