Travel Digest #168 - STATUS UPDATE: MULTIPLE COMMENTS

Introduction

Heya, it's @martibis here! Firs things first, we - among a bunch of other bots - are currently experiencing some issues regarding multiple automated comments. We are looking into it, but unfortunately won't be able to fix the issue until Tuesday. If you are experiencing this issue yourself, let us know and we will remove the duplicate comments. If you don't want to deal with it at all, wait until Wednesday to add the Steemitworldmap code to your post. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding!

#1 Snowy Austrian Spring

@dejan.vuckovic is back with another amazing travel story, this time he's taking us to Austria, to visit his best friends' wedding. Whilst life ended up separating them for thousands of miles, the friendship never withered! With a few free days in Austria before the wedding, @dejan.vuckovic decides to cycle a part of the Salzkammergut route. But with snowfall, cycling is no longer option. A hike it is! The little town of Hallstatt is around 15km away. Before arriving at the track he meets a few mountain rangers who pretty much tell him that the track is closed, but if he's going to go anyways, he has to get the local coffee with beer in Hallstatt. Whilst after hiking the track in the snowy circumstances, made it clear why the track was closed. It was still well worth it!

#2 Covent Garden Market - London, England

@coldsteem takes us to the Covent Garden Market in London, England. The first thing @coldsteem notices is the variety in the streetperformers - from very skilled musicians, to dressed up guys asking money for a photo with them. The market itself, somehow manages to keep up with that trend, mixing formal shops with branded clothing together with a more flea-market type of environment. There are a few other notable attractions along Covent Garden Market as well, like the London Transport Museum and the Royal Opera House. At one end of the market you'll find the St. Paul's Church as well, there is a small garden, which makes it able to take a little breather from the hustle and bustle of the market.

#3 A Rococo Library, Hunting Room And Six Massive Organs - The Palace In Mafra

For our last featured post of today @for91days takes us to Mafra, Portugal. One of Portugal's most monumental palaces can be found here. It's sheer size leaving you in awe already. The centerpiece of the palace is a basilica which holds six massive organs. This is unique in the world, and made for certain musical arrangements that can only be played there. Up until 1910 - which holds the end of the monarchy in Portugal - the palace was used by the Portuguese royalty. Whilst the palace is very impressive from the outside, it is not an inviting place on the inside. There are two rooms that do stand out though, the Trophy room - with all furniture made from antlers and hides, and the Rococo library, it's stunning and contains 36.000 ancient tomes.

You're very welcome!

Hi I hope everything starts to run smoothly for you soon.

I hope you don't mind me asking this question here but, Where is the option to see the map as a satellite view gone? This function is very important to me to allow for accurate placement of the pin so I can show exactly where the post refers to.

Yeah, likely a change to the steem API causing some issues, but can't fix it until Tuesday unfortunately!

It was removed to clean up the UI in mobile view mostly. As it's changed from within the script it's a bit annoying to have it change between viewports (desktop / mobile), so I opted to remove it completely, as I felt it was not used that often.

I do understand that for the people that were using it, it's a bit of a nuisance but I think the cleaner look on mobile goes a long way for the usability of the map whilst exploring.

That's a pity. I will have to start doing it manually through Google maps satellite view again. Thanks for your answer and for the continuing development of Steemitworldmap.

Hey. Hope you are all well. Fabulous selection as always. I did not realise there was a bot problem and have multiple comments (19 so far) on my last post. That is for my photog account (this one). Sorry. I wouldn't have tagged it if I had realised.

Doing great here! Yeah, sorry about that! I just went and removed them for you!

No dramas. Thanks for getting onto it so quickly
