Black myths of Kamchatka

Kamchatka is an amazing place. I was there only a few days, waiting for the flight to the Commander Islands. It was 4 years ago. But I still remember her. And till now I can easily find new untouched photos from Kamchatka.



In the first two days Kamchatka appeared to us harsh and gloomy. Rain, fog and wind followed us. Dark rocks, like the back of a huge dragon, which hides in an impenetrable fog. Or were they fallen to the ground clouds?



Somewhere among them hid the fire-breathing volcanoes. Around which the bears roamed. You will not find as many bears anywhere as here. We saw them on the rivers, on the road and even on the airport runway.



At the same time, Kamchatka is amazingly photogenic. Even in bad weather, you can make good photos. Well, if you are lucky and fate will give you the sun ... then even more so. In this regard, you can compare Kamchatka with Iceland and Patagonia. But here everything is more brutal. A few kilometers from the city and you are completely in the power of nature.



Artifacts belonging to a human quickly turn into a part of the landscape. Skeletons of ships and abandoned lighthouses. Somewhere there live poachers. Every year they come here for salmons caviar. Their tracks intersect with the bear. It is difficult to say whom to meet worse for a tourist.



Yes, the magic of this place is so strong that the flow of tourists does not weaken even in winter. People fly to see and feel the power, which imbues the land of Kamchatka. And maybe find its particle inside yourself. Such people come back here again and again. Despite everything.

And I'm looking at my photos, I want to go there again. To see miracles. Feel the power. And find my dragon.

P.S. If you suddenly want to see all this with your own eyes, then it is not so difficult to do it. A direct flight from Moscow will take you in 8 hours. For residents of the Far East there are flights from Vladivostok. It's easy to get to Kamchatka. Where it is more difficult to return) Departures can be canceled because of the weather for several days in a row. This is the main rule of the Far East - even a couple of days in the reserve can not be a guarantee. Time is measured here for weeks and months.
