Travel Pro Adventure #7: Lost in Railey Peninsula Thailand! Final Part Six! (43 photos)

in #travel7 years ago

Welcome back my steemit friends to the final part six of this epic adventure around Railey Peninsula Thailand! It's now 2:40 in the afternoon and it's just incredible all the things we've done and seen so far today. There is still so much more to do! I'm excited! We still have time to check out one last beach on the south side of this small peninsula before returning to the pier to catch the Long Tail Speed Boat back to Krabi Town.

We arrived 50 minutes early at the pier; that's after getting lost in the jungle! We are doing great on time. We take in the view and step out of the way of people hauling cargo. We now head down this beach, Railey East in the direction of Cave Beach just a short distance south of here.

We take one more look back at the beach before continuing down the well groomed path.

Many people are coming and going on this path. It's obvious that everyone is really enjoying the cave like environment with the limestone cliffs hanging over head. You can just feel the energy; it's a very special place.

After a brief ten minute walk along the limestone cliffs the path opens up and this is what we see. Cave beach, another incredible beach in Railey. I don't think we've seen so many gorgeous beaches in one afternoon. Each beach has been spectacular!

It's said that there are about 1,500 islands in Thailand. Approximately only a couple hundred have inhabitants and less than 60 have any kind of infrastructure for tourism. Most of the islands are beautiful picturesque little things like what you see just off the shore here at Cave Beach.

The biggest most popular island to visit with shopping malls and much more is Koh Samui in the gulf of Thailand. Just north of that is the Island of Koh Phagnan famous for it's full moon part. We spent some time there recently as well. Here is a travel report I did on Koh Phagnan if you want to learn more.

Another incredible spot to go rock climbing. I bet he has an amazing view from up there!

On the way back to Railey Beach East we look up and see that this is the way to Princess Lagoon. We may have to come back another day for some further exploration. We are finally starting to feel a bit tired and getting hungry. I'm starting to think about the Pooh Buffet we're going to enjoy when we get back to Krabi. It's now abut 3:15. We're right on time, we'll be back to the pier shortly.

There's our boat, and we are soon on our way back to Krabi Town.

And to think back where I grew up in Albany New York. It's probably snowing and getting dark at 4pm. I couldn't be happier here in Thailand, one of the most beautiful countries on the planet!

The boat docks at the pier in Krabi Town and we are just a three minute walk to our hotel.

I really like this hotel, it was very comfortable and it had a great view. The only surprising thing is that it was lacking hot water! But that was alright, we needed to cool down anyway. It's been a hot day and we certainly got a lot of exercise. For ten dollars a night, it's hard to complain.

We wash up, put on some fresh clean clothes, and head down the street five minutes to the Pooh Buffet!

We arrived! One thing I just love about most places outside of the united states is that the cities and towns are all set up for walking from one place to another. When I go back home to the US; one of the first things I notice is how spread out everything is, and half the land is seemingly used as parking lots! Cars rule the streets in America, but most of the rest of the world people rule the streets and walking from place to place is a way of life. But enough about that, let's go eat!

Wow look at this spread. I just did a steemit post on this kind of "hot pot" buffet. If you want to learn more about these kinds of restaurants you should check it out, the link is listed below. Before I even sit down I get a bunch of food, silverware, condiments, then start cooking.

This buffet has langoustine; a member of the lobster family and boy are they good! I must have eaten about thirty of them! After today's activities I certainly brought my appetite. The food is all tasty and fresh. Quite frankly I don't know what is better, the buffet or the price? It only cost six dollars for all you can eat!

In "Travel Pro" fashion we made the right decision taking the 3:30 boat back to Krabi Town instead of the 5pm. This time of year in the tropics thunderstorms usually come rolling in around this hour. As the rain pours down, we relax, enjoy our food, and take a moment to look through our camera and see some of the awesome photos from our day together. Thank you so much for coming along and being apart of this incredible adventure in Railey Peninsula! -Dan "World Travel Pro!"
