Real Life Captured #26: Quito Ecuador Part Two (10 photos, 1 video)
Hey there my steemit friends. Come along and let's explore the streets of Quito Ecuador. This city is very rich in culture and is considered the heart of the Andes in Ecuador. Nestled in a valley almost 10,000ft above sea level; this city dates back to 1534. The main population is Mestizo and Quichwa. Mestizo being a mixed race of Spanish and Quichwa Indian.
Part of the beauty of this city is the high moral Christian beliefs the public hold dear, leaving this city to be an example for low crime and good living for neighboring countries, especially gang plagued Colombia to the north. Cheap street food, music, dance, vibrant art and clothing can be seen randomly throughout the city.
Since Quito is in a valley you can see the beautiful landscape of the Andes mountains from any direction. My latest cover image is a photo I took from the bell tower in the historic Basilica Church to give you and idea of this environment.
Even though we are on the equator, due to the altitude it's down right chilly here, and climbing a single flight of stairs can leave you out of breath. Don't let that "eternal spring" line of propaganda from the ministry of tourism fool you. It's more like eternal late autumn! So if you visit make sure to dress appropriately. Now let's have another look at this incredible city high in the Andes!

Haha, I like this saying : “eternal late autumn”! 😂 Quito is certainly a city full of charm. I stayed there 10 days and craved for more - let alone the extensive city itself, it’s a great base to explore all the beautiful nature and culture around. =)
