Real Life Captured #69: Carnival in Guayaquil Ecuador! Part One (15 photos)
Hey there my Steemit Friends. I caught word that there was going to be a Carnival Parade near where I'm staying in Guayaquil Ecuador. It was near the popular Melecon 2000, a river front boardwalk. Actually it was my taxi driver from the airport who tipped me off. I find that taxi drivers are full of useful information.
So yesterday I headed over there at 4pm and just like the taxi driver said and right on time; the parade came rolling through. It was drizzling and very dreary, my camera had difficulty getting real crisp shots, with the rain and cloudy weather it seemed like the shutter speed was really slow. But for an amateur I do the best I can to bring you guys a taste of the real life around the world as that is what is most important to me.
So yes, I'm back in Guayaquil after almost two weeks in the Galapagos. I figured I'd stay here for a week making posts about the adventures I just had in the Galapagos before I head south to Peru. With dozens of post to make and over 800 photos to edit I'll be busy round the clock. However yesterday I got out of my room and saw this fun parade celebrating Carnival here in Guayaquil Ecuador! It must have been a fun experience, especially since it wasn't planned. A pleasant surprise. I definitely would have enjoyed the music, the vivid and vibrant colors and the activities all around that parade. The residents put a lot of work into the festival (every year!) so it's nice to support and enjoy it. I can see that the kids are also involved, complete with beautiful costumes. I'm sure they put a lot of time into practicing their dances.
Kudos to your cab driver. I agree, some can be full of useful information.

Thanks buddy. I've spend a lot of time in Ecuador. Truth be told I don't really like the food here much at all. So much rice and beans beans and rice then a thin piece of grilled meat or a deep fried cheese empananda. I've been cooking a lot in my room, check out my post for this Tuesday, you'll see some great food!

Wow, I never expected carnival in Ecuador. I totaly enjoyed your post. If you have chance to go Quito, visit the statue of angel at the evening. You will see extremly fantastic view. If you never been there. :)

Bad news is I'm here in Guayaquil for another week and I have nothing to do but make blog posts! lol Yes, looking forward to Peru myself. Time is flying by not sure if I'm going to make it all the way to Buanes Aires. By May. Looking doubtful. I could spend 3 months' just exploring Peru. We'll see how it goes. Ha Ha! I have a recent post about dancing in front of the computer for my exercise. I need to get better with my time management. I seem to be always struggling with my newest post lately. I hope to be just like you soon and have a bank of them.
