Museum Series - What's The Inside Like: Tajhaz, The Village Museum

When you are holidaying at Lake Balaton, Hungary, spare the time to go to Zamardi and visit this Tajhaz, which is the village museum.

In 1960s, a house was turned into a museum, but the building itself was built back in the 1800s, and it's still on its original style. On one of its main girder beam, you can find a carved year of 1847

A local school teacher and his students been collecting historical items of the past since 1940s, and many of their collections were donated to this museum.

Restoration of the original house started in the '70s and it is showing the early 19th century house style of Hungarians in Zamardi.

I was really impressed with the old stove and fireplace. In general I find fireplace in Hungary to be beautiful, made of tiles, and at this museum they have one as well.

Bedding, household items, farming tools from back days, clothing and whatnot, are displayed at this museum.

But what I find most interesting about this museum is the roof, somehow remind me Indonesian traditional houses.

The fence was also made to show how the old fence of the house looked like. Now here comes the fun part when checking on the fence, these bugs! 😂 Sooooo many of them, they gave me goosebumps just to see them 😂
