PANAMA SERIES: HACIENDA LOS MOLINOS
Hacienda Los Molinos is a great Panamanian retreat which sits on the edge of a canyon with incredible views. Located in the Highlands of Boquete, more precisely along the River Canyon Cochea, this gorgeous estate is a well known meeting point for foreigners as it has a hotel and fancy restaurant.
The location itself is stunning as you are surrounded by nature. Everything is green and lush even during the dry season. If it wasn't for the rain, I would say that it has the perfect climate. Not too hot, not too cold, just right! This is were we spent most of the time each time we ended up at Los Molinos. Nothing beats having some fun in the pool! You can imagine that getting the kids out of the pool wasn't an easy task! While being at Los Molinos, we met some of its residents, people from the states and Colombia. They were an interesting mix of owners, renters and hotel guests. All of them were sold for the view over the Canyon, just like us! Although we never stayed in the hotel and only went there to eat and stay by the pool, it truly felt like paradise! Hanging out in the lounge and having dinner outside by the canyon was amazing! The food and service were quite good! There's even a waterfall in this canyon. You can see it on the right side of the photo below. It's more visible in the morning, before the clouds start rolling in. The view over the canyon from Los Molinos is stunning no matter the weather. On sunny days you can admire the whole canyon. Some times you are able to enjoy only a partial view but even that is breathtaking. Seeing the clouds forming so close to you is just wonderful. In the evening, although you are in the tropics, it tends to get a bit chillier. Then, there's nothing more beautiful than being outside and having a fire camp with friends. Los Molinos terrace
If you ever find yourself in Panama and plan to visit Chiriqui's province highlands, make sure you stop for dinner at Los Molinos! You'd love it! You can stop on your way in or out of Boquete for a treat! The white and red windmill on the side of the road from David to Boquete will help you spot the entrance to this estate. No need for reservation unless if it's a national holiday. Otherwise, just pop by and have a fabulous day! If I'd make a list of my top 10 favourite places in the world, Los Molinos would be among those ten. Maybe because while I was there, I always felt like home. Love the foggy view and the crystalline pools! Having a bath in one of these while admiring the nature will create some memorable moments for sure :)
Indeed! We were in the pool even during the rain ;0) Each time we remember it we laugh because the staff must have thought we were nuts.
hahahaha. I would do the same for sure!
Damn, looks really beautiful :D
The pictures don't do justice to this place !

I am sure you'll find your version of it. This world has so many beautiful places and we have so little time to discover them ;0)
I especially like the greens! they're so lush and the water so clear!!
What a beautiful country :-)
Being in the highlands, it doesn't get as hot as in the capital and the vegetation is always lush green, it doesn't get that dried or burnt look .
It seems that way! Since I love swimming, I really like how the pool scenery 😊

Los Molinos... wow, that's an incredible setting and amazing that you can just turn up on the day and stay there haha! Great find and thanks for sharing this little delight (well, big delight seeing as the canyon looks AMAZING)!!
The first time we ended up in there I was speechless at the sight of the canyon. When I noticed the waterfall I was even more blown away by its beauty!
I bet, you probably couldn't keep your mouth shut in awe 😮 I know I wouldn't be able to. The noise of the waterfall must have been awesome as well
