Visiting the Dolphinarium in Constanta, Romania -2
As I mentioned in my previous post, the Dolphinarium is part of the Museum of Natural Sciences of Constanta which has an Aquarium, a Micro-Reservation (Mini-Zoo) , a Planetarium, an Exotic Birds exhibition and a Horse Riding School.
Today's post will be about the dolphins' show that we recently saw.
Let me start by saying that opting for the dolphins' show was an inspired choice.
The show lasted longer than usual because one of the city's officials was among the spectators.
From what I gathered, usually it does not last more than fifteen minutes.
We were lucky to see a show which lasted close to forty minutes!
We liked seeing the two dolphins, Ni Ni and Chen Chen, as they were smart, happy and incredibly friendly.
Throughout the show we enjoyed watching them playing, singing, eating their fishy treats and performing any of the jumps or things their trainers were asking them.
What I would have loved even more was a bigger pool for the these two dolphins who reminded me of the animals circus.
The price of the ticket was 40 lei (close to $10 USD), quite reasonable I would say. That included the two exhibitions I talked about yesterday.
Children with ages between 1 and 7 can attend the show for free.
The last five minutes of the show were awesome, as the audience loved seeing the trainer swimming with the dolphins and being pushed up into the air and later on the edge of the pool by them.
As goodbye, the two stars of the show made a few more jumps which delighted everyone present in the arena.
For those of you who had the patience or curiosity to scroll all the way down here, you can see some of the short videos I took last year during the same show.

Oh wow this was so nice! You took some really great photos! Dolphins are so much fun and I love watching how smart they are. Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you! Nini and Chen Chen, the dolphins, were adorable!
You’re welcome ~
I'm always somewhat conflicted by these parks. I outright enjoy dolphin shows, but I have trouble balancing the welfare of the dolphins (which varies a lot, these look like they're happy) with the benefits of outreach and conservation.
They seemed happy, but I think a bigger tank would have made them even happier!
Oh! I adore dolphins. They make me so happy. What amazing, intelligent, wonderful creatures. Thank you for sharing this! 💖
