Talk of the Line (3-27-2018 Recap) -@thesteemengine Live Curation Voice Chat
Voice chat is one of the great features of Discord that often goes underused.
At @thesteemengine, we're all about connecting users in order to improve engagement across Steemit. Today, we hosted the very first Talk of the Line segment, where we invited members to come on a voice channel in our Discord server and talk about their most recent posts!

So bad I missed this time, be there next one!
And I am almost 500 SP as well @ethandsmith ✌️
That's great, @bafi! I'm glad you're almost there! I hope you'll be able to drop by for the next Talk of the Line!
Yay, @awakentolife on Curie! Great highlights again! Resteemed 😁
Thank you so much for the support, Karen. We really appreciate it. We're trying to figure out a good time to have a session so all of our Asian members can get on. I know the time wasn't really convenient this time. Maybe you'll get to swing by to one of the sessions!
@karencarrens thank you. It was awesome and it happened during our show which was amazing. :)
It was a pleasure to spend the time with you all today on the show. There were some brilliant presentations and lots of quality posts shared by all of the people involved. I'm looking forward to the next one!
Yourself and @awakentolife did a fantastic job. Big success.
Until next time friends!
@calumam than you brother. I believe next one should be tomorrow, but I have to catch up with Ethan about it. There sure was some great posts shared and we had fun while presenting. :)
Thanks for supporting our show and stopping by to chat, @calumam. We appreciate your cooperation with the @buddyup effort, and we're looking forward to hearing more about it soon!
Great to hear this. The sound is weird because I hear Ethand on one ear and the other speakers on the other headphone. I am so glad to hear my favorite basketball player's voice. I really like this idea. It's cool to hear so many talk about their posts.
I have a technical question about discord. After listening I wonder what is the best way to speak on discourse. Ethand's voice comes over real clear. It seems that there are so many technical difficulties in discord.
It's cool how people talk about their posts from around the world and talk about whatever from a broad spectrum.
Awaken to life makes a wonderful co-host as he encourages and motivates all the fellow Steemians who share and offers positive words.
Thanks so much for pointing out the issues with the audio. I was recording with a mono source and forgot to switch it to stereo, so I only come out of one side.
The reason my voice is so clear in the recording is that I was able to record directly from my microphone's source, whereas everyone else was being recorded across the connection.
Some general tips for sounding good on Discord is to make sure you're connected to a fast internet connection if possible. Next, try to get a USB microphone or headset. Built-in microphones on computers are usually not great quality. Alternatively, you can use Discord on your mobile phone as those microphones are generally better.
Glad you got to enjoy some of the recording. Hopefully, we'll have the next session at a time when you can attend! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks a lot. I never thought of that. How about blue tooth?
Bluetooth would probably work, too. Depends on the device. If you're looking to purchase, be sure to read user reviews to find out how well it works. Some Bluetooth devices aren't worth the money.
@mineopoly thank you for such an amazing comment. I hope next time you will be there with us sharing your post. So we can encourage each other. :)
I hope so too... i think everybody needs a lot of encouragement. One day I will get the time right. Haha. Always great to hear from you.
Thanks so much! It was a fun time and great opportunity to share our posts. Cya' next time.
We're glad you stopped by to attend! Thanks so much for sharing.
Oh common :) At least you should have put a smiley face or something, it sounds way too serious with just a period. People will actually think we were fighting :D :D :D
I thought the delivery of it as just a short sentence would be funny for those who understood the context. I guess it could be taken the wrong way. haha :) We know what it was about, though. Glad you were able to attend the session!
I am glad I could join and am looking forward to the next one 💚
