Thank you to everyone for another great response again to last week’s Writing Challenge. It was great to read about your favorite meals.

There were almost 80 entries in total – another good increase on last week’s challenge.

On to Challenge #4 now. We hope you will enjoy this week’s theme.

Let’s see if we can grow the number of participants even higher still.

The Weekly Writing Challenge #4

The wider distribution rewarding system seems to be popular, so we will be sticking with that. There will still be some 100% votes for the very best entries - but there will be many more votes in the middle range.

The theme for this week’s Weekly Writing Challenge is…

The Street Where I Live

Tell us about the street, road, lane or even cul-de-sac where you live.

Is it a busy road, are there shops, is it big, is it small? Are there any interesting or unusual buildings or businesses on it? Or is it all residential, just houses, flats, bungalows? Are they old or are they new?

Do you enjoy living on that street? Do you know many of the people that live there?

You don’t have to give any location details, but it would be useful to know what country you live in, and whether where you live is a big city, small town, or tiny village. That adds a bit more context to your post.

It will be great if you can include photos of your street.

The posts can be in any language.

This challenge will run until next Sunday, May 3rd.

During the week we will be reading all the posts and rewarding as many as possible with upvotes from the 1 million SP @steemcurator01 account.

Your streets are beautiful, there is a lot of green .. where I live there is too much concrete.

The Steemit Team

You are welcome. A happy day to you. 💕

Seriously , you want people to write whats in there street ,

i want you to write when SMT ?
when the decision of 0.22.8888 ?
when some official update about the soft fork ?
please let us know as community waits for it desperately

Also Stink had been stalling the community for months because of the SMT. And as you can see there are no exact statements on HIVE about that.

If something should be programmed properly it takes time. Look at the Testnet there you can already test the SMT. And the implementation is not good.

And that the whole community is waiting for it I doubt. Of course this would attract investors and there would be many possibilities, but rather for few, and not for many.

Steemit inc. has been taken over 2 months ago and there are many problems. First of all the chain has to be stable and the old witnesses have to be removed. Only when the Micro Fork stops and everything runs stable you can approach such a big task.

I like the contests because they show that we are trying to offer something in this area.

Always one step after the other.

Hey @steemcurator01,

Hindi translation is ready for Indian community:-
100 दिन STEEM : दिन 25 - Weekly Writing Challenge #4

100 DAYS OF STEEM is a good system for Steemit to communicate with users.
Weekly Writing Challenge is helping users participate and act on steemit through rewards.
These are very good for Steemit development.

But now STEEM is not solving the big problem.
Abusing is growing rapidly, and users who mining STEEM through comments continue to increase.
Several teams are trying to solve the problem through Downvote, but the community is not able to solve it.

https://tool.steem.world/Post/TopPendingPayouts
Check the link.
It is difficult for many Steemit users to earn more than 5$ even if they post hard work.
But what about these users?
They are taking hundreds of dollars a day as rewards.
When these rewards disappear, more users can make rewards and participate in steemit.

How is the trending post changing?
People started buying voting again.
Buying voting is similar to mining a STEEM. If there is no response, the trending post page will soon be full of voting buyers.

STEEM is going back to the past.
We know there are a lot of problems to solve.
Please try to solve these problems as soon as possible.

That list is very interesting. There are some current top witnesses in it.

Some abusers may be obvious, some not so . And some would be debatable.

We are interested to explore ways to find out what the community considers is acceptable and what is not.

This is definitely an area we are currently looking at, and want to find solutions that are acceptable to everyone or least the largest majority.

Thank you

The Steemit Team

Unfortunately this cannot be changed to a decentralized system. The abuse has always existed. It would only be possible to block such accounts. But maybe Steemit inc. should go the way and really block such accounts. Only that the reward + curation part is sent to zero. That would do it. Freezing the assets on the account would not go over well.

Unfortunately, Steemcleaners also abused the system and they had only enriched themselves with comments by voting for them.

Steemcleaners are a prime example of failure.

Managing users who exploit the system could be nice if it could be done through voting like SPS.

We are interested in all possible solutions.
