Air Quality in Vancouver Has Seen Radical Improvement Just Today

Last almost two weeks we had "Very High" Air Quality Health Index (10+ scores), which means that air was incredibly polluted by air contaminants coming from a wildfire. Smoke over the Vancouver was crazy, it was impossible to see far than 50 meters.

Doctors recommended to limit outdoor activities, keep children at home, stay hydrated and tried to stay at home for adults. I know that some of my friends took sick days and worked from home.

So it looks like this (photo below)

Today the risk is moderate, air is a far cry from what we endured in the region Wednesday, with smoke blanketing Metro Vancouver in a problematic haze.

But I still have photos from the day before yesterday.

I know that a lot of Cities are facing this issue through the entire west coast.

Experts say that wildfires in both British Columbia and the western United States are still prompting high concentrations of fine particulate matter. Also, the high concentrations of ozone (a colorless and highly-irritating gas that forms just above the earth’s surface) reached out the advisory levels. This ozone is a major component of smog, as well. It might be the cause of irritation of the respiratory tract and eyes, that's why doctors say to stay indoors and limit any outdoors activities.
