Unboxing my 63 oz binge - Part 5-8: My honey hole LCS trip: 1982 MONEX INTERNATIONAL LTD

in #steemsilvergold6 years ago

The binge continues
This is a continuation of my unboxing of my 63oz binge. This is part 8 of my 32oz buy at my honey hole LCS! This place is over 3 hours away, and only open M-F and only if the market is open. That takes away much of the time I could get down there, having the markets closed around the holidays makes it tough. I knew this was likely to happen, in the past he has had Hoffman & Hoffman rounds, Golden Analytical Bars, lots of interesting stuff. I tend to buy anything he has that older and looks like it might carry a premium.

Running Total 42oz

Monex Rounds Facts

  • Two varieties, those made by the Royal Canadian Mint, made in the US.
  • These were not the Canadian variety, missing the official logo and bilingual markings.
  • Has a reeded edge - give the coin a great feel
  • Numista rarity rating of 93/100 (100 is very rare)

Price $18 - $25

With almost no rhyme or reason eBay listings are going from $18-$25 (Spot + $2 - Spot+$10) sold price with a mix between BIN and auctions. Not sure what is driving the differences in pricing. The prices are also mixed between the Canadian version and the US version. These look like they have plenty of interest, but not convinced if there is enough profit in these to flip them just yet.

Part 5 the 32oz trip is complete, starting the final Part 6 - the final 8oz next time!. Follow along for some more vintage rounds!

I like this round. Simple and sound.

I really like them, they are a bit smaller and chunky. It has great detail of the North American continent

Some of them physical coins look pretty sweet :)

Yup - while crypto is great I still need something real to hold. I can't hold my crypto - it's just not the same.
