The mood

The mood defines
the personality and the present attitude
A musical mood
and dance steps evolve
A sad mood
and soulful music seems endearing
An angry mood
and a poem springs forth
A bored mood
and sleep creeps in
An advice mood
and my nephew/nieces run away from me
A hormonal mood
and my family suffers my verbal onslaught
As age creeps in
men just age and sit and play cards maybe
but a woman like me
it is like living with a tornado
women are a complete package
and that all will agree upon
be it a politician, a farmer or a techie
and even maybe a priest
and yet women are needed for the continuation

Twenty years hence, I wonder how the society will be? If this post can still be seen twenty years hence, please comment provided the technology still has use of the blockchain

entry for Announcing the Steemit School Poetry 100 Day Challenge! (Total Prize Fund 2000 SBD)

I write poems to express myself. I started writing at the age of twelve or so and some of my poems were published in magazines for children, a time when print still ruled the world. The internet and the blogging world has helped me write poems. Most of it was as I wrote earlier, to express myself and my thoughts. I have also been a ghostwriter.

Steemit has helped me write with freedom and also earned me very good friends who encourage me to write. I hope my readers will support me and also join in this contest. I am not a student of literature and so I do not consider myself an expert in poetry. It is the judge who will decide.
