My entry to the "Pay It Forward Curation Contest - Week 11"

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

This is my 8th entry for the Pay It Forward contest initiated by @thedarkhorse.

The rules: Showcase 2 newbies with reputation at or below 50... with a 3rd optional presentation under the theme "someone who is positive or helps others."

This time, I bring you two talented newbies, but also two very different artists: one is an illustrator, the other: a comic strip author.

#1 - @wgustaman (44)

Gustaman is an Indonesian artist from Java Island and has joined SteemIt last month, May 2018. He uses SteemIt to display his own drawings and illustrations.

His drawings are creative, original and funny.

The post I've selected to showcase his work is: An Entry for "Crypto Art & Design Challenge [Round 12: Tron]"

This is an entry for a contest, which asks candidates to sumbit a work based on a famous artist and mixed it with Tron's logo. @wgustaman decided to use the famous "Girl with a Pearl Earring" and I think the end result is pretty good, even if the girl looks a bit more angry than in the original painting. (Maybe she's mad about Tron going down... just like the entire market?)

#2 - @blue-dragon (48)

I don't know much about this artist and I can't find his introduction post. I don't think there's one... but I enjoy his comics featuring the Blue Dragon character.

Here's his latest work, which I think it's pretty self-explanatory: Countdown to the World Cup

I hope you have enjoyed these artists and their works. If so, please follow and support them.

#3 - @soma909 (52)

For the optional part of the contest -- someone who is positive or helps others -- my candidate is @soma909.

He was one of the first to help me when my reputation crashed harder than Bitcoin, by constantly upvoting my posts and comments until I've recovered. (Once again, thanks.)

I see him constantly helping others, be it with upvotes, re-steems, helpful comments or by delegating Steem Power to new users.

Keep up with the good work, @soma909!

Thanks for being so dedicated to supporting the #payitforward project. All the best to you.

And thank you, too, for constantly helping me. 😃

My pleasure.

Thanks for your entry @trincowski; I appreciate your continued support of this initiative! I agree, the girl with the pearl earring looks like she's sneering a bit, but maybe she's

mad about Tron going down... just like the entire market?

Tough times right now for sure (I did read the thread between you and thedarkhorse too here), so it's things like this that help encourage those remaining. There is a new group called @c-squared here, I actually wrote a post about it. I'm not looking for upvotes with this :) They are an off-shoot of curie, but have a specific channel in discord for art curation where you can share links, and you always seem to find such good ones. Have a look at my post if you're interested, but it could be one more place to share quality unnoticed posts; maybe you could be directly responsible for keeping a starving artist here :)

My voting power is dreadful at the moment, but I'll check out these featured bloggers tomorrow :)

Thanks again!

Thanks. I will check it out. I don't use Discord that much, though.

Thank you for your entry. Featured bloggers have been upvoted.

These are not easy days for SteemIt. I'm just hoping the majority of these users stick around. Lately, I see a lot of users who stop using SteemIt for one reason or another. But probably, because their rewards are so meagre and they think it's too much work for such tiny gains. 😶

I understand not everyone can afford to invest money into the site... but those that can afford it, should really think about it, as it definitely helps to have at least 100 Steem, instead of starting with just 15 SP.

Right now, my goal is to reach 500 SP of my own. I'm on track... only 314 STEEM to go! 😅😅😅

With such low prices, this is a great time to spend a few €€€ buying Steem Delegation through BlockTrades. I believe it's a much better deal than buying Steem directly, at least for people who are posting regularly. You get a huge boost in the VP... and that, will in turn, translate into a quicker account growth.

This is the time to be powering up. Buy Steem while prices are this low or lock in long term leases. Personally I think a mixture is best when you start as the issue when you lease is you have to make sure to earn enough to be able to lease again in the future when it's time to renew. Owned SP gives you more flexibility.

Right now for $175 USD you can have 100sp, that is amazing. This IMO is worth at least $2000 in a the next 1-2 years. Plus you will earn more SP on that investment compounding your investment over the 1-2 years. There is nothing else like this in the crypto or investing space that I know of.

Hmmmm... I only know about Block Trades. And they do it for 90 days. Where else can I get a deal on Steem Delegation?

I've done my Math, and I believe I can get better results with Steem Delegation than buying Steem directly, since now I have a VP above 1000... whereas I would have only around 250 SP had I bought Steem instead.

In the end of the Delegation, if all continues on the current track, I will end up with more SP than if I had bought Steem right up front. If I don't give up posting, it will pay off.

It really depends on how much self voting your doing. My account runs like 5-8% self voting so not enough to profit or even break even from leasing.

As for other options, look into @minnowbooster also. That is who I had used before and it was a better deal at the time then blocktrades was. This changes back and forth as the free markets should.

supported your featured entries , thank you for your entry

I'm just a minnow helping minnows... Thanks for supporting me! 😉

Be where? How would you go there if you're a program?

You should ask someone else, I don't think I know enough to answer you.

Mission accomplished, I don't vote for the first featured blogger, but I left my trace on the comments section. Hope you're continuing with your successful steemit journey 👌

Great features @trincowski! You have come up with some amazing artists. Keep showing them off !!

I hope I keep finding them. After all, I only started following most of them after my weekly posts to the contest. :-)

I end up doing the same thing LOL
