A Letter to Steemit Newbies.. (Tips & Advice)
Dear Newbies,
What you need to do first?
- Back up your password, save it, keep it safe and secure. Once you forget your password, there's no such recovery. GOODBYE ACCOUNT. 👋
- Set up your profile. This is your label. That's how others will have a glimpse of you. Set up your profile picture, cover photo and "about you" section. Entice us to follow you!
- Read FAQ! Read and understand it. Understand what you're getting into, most of the answers to the questions you have in your mind are already in FAQ Section. Everything to do with Steemit. Things you need to know. You just need to read it thoroughly!
- Write your "introduction post"! Introduce yourself to us, tell us something about you, what are we going to look forward so we can follow you. This is crucial. This will be your breaking ground to build your "followers". Followers will eventually the one who will upvote your post and Upvote means "Money". And that's what you are here for. So make your intro post counts!
How will you make money?
- You will make money by making a post, upvoting/ curating, commenting and even joining contests. ENGAGING with others is a key to grow! And when I say making a post, I mean make a good, valuable, quality content post! Be creative!
TIPS AND ADVICE
Learn how to use "Markdown" to pimp your post! I will share you this one from @scrooger, my cheat sheet from the start. Here's the link. This helps me and this will help you too to beautify your post. Plain is boring. And a one sentence post with nonsense picture will not bring you traffic.
Don't copy paste, you will be caught! We have @cheetah, @steemcleaners that will notify you if they detect plagiarism/spam, you can be downvoted and flagged. Never do that. Instead, rewrite it, make it like yours with your own version. Site the source of anything you get from the web!
Install discord or steemit.chat and engage with other people in Steemit. Build your own empire. Join group. We are from all over the world. Connect with us.
Read others post and comment with sense! Even a comment sometimes earn more than a post itself!
Join "contest", interact with others who joining! You win a prize, you earn friends and followers. Hitting it all! You win, you will never lose! Oh and by the way, I just won @anomadsoul contest made possible by @blocktrades. That is 6SBD! And being featured in @steemitworldmap! I'm feeling grateful!
Build up your "reputation" and "steempower!" The more steem power, the higher your vote worth. The higher your reputation and steem power, the more influence you have on the community! Invest in it. Work it out. Set a goal!
Think big!The right attitude to become a big Whale! For now, you are a minnow 🐠 but I believe one day, you will be a whale and one day, you will be sharing with others your story on how did you achieve it!

Thank you so much for such a good guidance. I have a question and that are the bots which are used by Steemians to resteem their posts and get upvotes are legal or illegal? I am confused.
Hi love, thank you for the response, I appreciate it! Can you give me the name of the bot? There are lots of bots honestly. Some are free like @minnowsupport. There are those you need to pay. If it's illegal, it should be stopped by now for many will surely report it. And if steemians keep using them maybe they're getting something out of it. It's really up to you if you are going to use bot.
Mam, there are many such bots who would take some pie from you and would resteem and upvote your post in the future. My friend advised me to go for them but I am still avoiding and confused whether they are legal or illegal.
It's legal if it exists dear. But it is up tou if you will use it or not. Resteeming your post for more visibility will favours you.
