Steem Upvotes | Growing Mindset ✅

in #steemit6 years ago

Getting some initial exposure and upvotes can be very challenging for new accounts on Steemit. The learning curve is very steep and new blogs often give up early because this platform rarely gives instant results after an initial introduction post.

This series of posts can be seen as a step by step guide of things that can be done by anyone who starts out on Steemit to build up their post earnings over time...

9. Steem Upvotes | Growing Mindset ✅

I would say the majority of new accounts that try to get something going on Steemit fail miserably and give up while a small group really manages to crush it on Steemit starting from scratch without having invested any money to buy STEEM. I believe the key difference between these two groups is the combination of their overall intend why they are on steemit along with having a growing mindset!

While nearly everyone who is on Steemit cares in some way or another about the money they can potentially make (which is perfectly fine). The bigger intend often plays a huge role in being successful or not. Some questions that everybody can ask themselves...

  1. Did you have something to write about which made you sign up to steemit ?
  2. Did you sign up to Steemit and looked for something to write about afterwards ?
  3. What is the function of each post you are making ?

In other words, would you potentially have a blog and enjoy the process of blogging if it was not for the earnings on Steemit. Many people enjoy writing, make posts that helps themselves, inspires or informs others in some ways or just love the social interactions on this platform. The kind of passion this brings about tends not to go unnoticed while making posts just for the sake of making posts is very easy to spot and will have a very hard time to pick up any kind of support.

One of the key differences between accounts that manage to get out of the plankton rank without investing into Steem and those who stay stuck there forever seems to be a mindset to grow and improve all the time.

This drive translates in a will to actively Power Up as much Steem as they can often setting a target SP they want to achieve and writing about the progress.

The reason this often gets picked up with some support from bigger accounts is because these accounts want Steemit to grow and they understand that that people with a growing mindset have a far greater chance to work out and provide good value to Steemit in the long run.

It is also very unrewarding to support small accounts that don't really go out of their way to get extra upvotes on their posts because the curation rewards are usually a lot lower or non-existent if the post payout does not even reach the dust threshold.

While I could point to many accounts that are doing it wrong, it is far better to point to the accounts that are clearly doing it the right way. I always try to look out for small accounts that do exceptionally well and see what I can learn from them. These are some I often use as an example to show how it is possible to actually grow on Steemit...

@jlordc

Jlordc is a very good example of a successful content creator! He has been on Steemit for half a year and he his actively doing a lot of effort to grow. He is one of the accounts I picked up while testing out Steemfollower so these kind of efforts do work to grow and get noticed. He clearly enjoys writing and puts effort in his daily post often bringing information that is very useful. He is also doing a lot of effort to grow his daily upvotes by joining different groups and keeps track of his overall progress on Steemit.

@fullcoverbetting

Fullcoverbetting is a very good example of on how to be successful on Steemit by being Social! I first noticed Peter because he was on top of the weekly Engagement League from @abh12345 since his name implied betting content.He is very active on Steemit making a lot of genuine comments and clearly enjoying to social factor of this platform. He is also active in different communities and all his efforts along with his long term mindset made him a lot of friends here on Steemit which highly helps him in his growth. He also has personal growth targets and keeps track of his progress.

@beat-the-bookies

beat-the-bookies is a very good example of on how to be successful on Steemit by helping the community grow. Sasha has been on Steemit for half a year and blogs about a very niche topic (sports betting) that has very few attraction on Steemit. Yet he does manage to grow his blog because his efforts to help the community grow do not go unnoticed. Without him the Steemit Betting Community which keeps growing each day would not exist along with the Discord Server we have available and the @sbcbot that supports Sports Bettors on Steemit.

Something all these account have in common is that they are kind to Steemit, have a longer term mindset and are willing to learn and improve all the time. They all manage to get some success without big personal investment and each do it in their own way. I would highly recommend everyone who feels stuck on Steemit to take a close look at their own activity and compare it to successful accounts like these.

To end this article I would like to say that Steemit is clearly not for everyone. It really takes a lot of time and effort to grow on this platform, get noticed and build your post earnings. One of the reasons acounts manage to grow is because they love what they do and would likely be also doing it without the monetary rewards which keeps them going even if they experience a wall. On the bright side, anyone who has the needed drive to succeed on this platform can do so no matter what subject they bring if they show the needed drive to learn, grow and improve !

It's an honor to be in this fine company with @fullcoverbetting and @jlordc!

The less I care about growing my account, the more it grows. My focus is on keeping our sports betting crew engaged and active. Money-wise, 125 SP is nothing and if my focus has been on making money on steemit, I'd gave up a long time ago.

I'm all for making money here, it's just that I don't see it as my priority.

What I'm trying to say is, forget about the money, find some people you enjoy communicating with and have fun. Also, don't forget to power up :-)

Like you say, the money will follow if you clearly care about Steemit. Nice to see you having picked up a bit of whale support !

Thanks for the kind words @costanza! :)

I wouldn't go ahead and say that I am really a successful content creator since most of my posts still heavily rely on community votes and/or platform bots(busy, esteem, steempress). But you are right, I do enjoy writing and that's what really matters to me right now. :)

As what @beat-the-bookies said above:

Thanks for the shoutout! XD
