Steemit Upvotes | Increasing Post Earnings Basics ✅
When thinking about ways to get more upvotes and increasing your average post payouts, a reasoning that often is made is that higher post quality should result in an increased post payout. While this certainly won't hurt, if often does not make that much of a difference. Steemit is a Social Media Platform and a lot of the value comes from social interactions.
There are some accounts on my follow list that post consistent content with effort put into it, but are getting nearly no upvotes whatsoever. ( @crickettipster | @underdogchance | @footballline)
Two major things they all have in common
- Voting Power is at 100%
Using the voting power you have, even if it's not worth much, really makes a big difference as it is a form of social interaction on itself. Many active members on Steemit actually check the upvotes they get and will take the time to check a blog out if they notice getting multiple upvotes from it. This itself increases your own exposure and should lead to an increased amount of followers and more upvotes over time. Upvoting should always be done in a selective way, making more that 10 full upvotes each day will drain your voting power faster than it can recover. - Few to No Comments Outside their Own Posts
Posting Genuine Comments and Making Friends on Steemit can be very powerful and really help increase your own post earnings over time. Your comments should regularly get upvoted not only by the original poster, but also by others who are into the conversation or when lucky you can get an upvote from one of the comment upvote bots like @gentlebot. All those payouts can be used to increase your post earnings by using the inevitable Upvote Bots.
If you want to increase your overall post earnings, focus on becoming more socially active of this platform. Find Like Minded People, Make Friend, Use your Upvote Power, Post Genuine Comments, Join Community Created Challenges, ...

My personal interest has always been to see the sports betting community grow here on steemit. I regulary check new accounts who post in the sports related tags and even have my own little monthly curation going on.
Right now I don't think it's the best time to recommend steemit to anyone with the regisration taking ages and new members generally having a really hard time to get something going, so I'm writing a bunch of articles for the time when these things get fixed as a way to introduce outsiders to the platform aswel as welcome first time posters and give them some knowledge which should increase the 'success rate'.
The last few days I've been reading about the different initiatives here on steemit, upvoting folks, and voting for witness those I've found doing interesting things... and today I've started getting an upvote on every comment I wrote - you'll see what I'm talking about in the comment bellow :-)
Regarding the three guys you've mentioned, if my memory serves me correctly, I've tried to engage with no success with @crickettipster and @underdogchance, while @footballline is totally new to me. (Started following him and gave him an upvote upon reading your post.)
Your advice about engaging with other users is spot on. I will repeat it here again: Do engage with other users!
My posts' earnings are meager at best, and often time I'll have a bigger payout on the comment I wrote than on my post for which I run my model, took a screenshot and made an image for post,... a lot more work compared to reading a post and saying something meaningful.
Listen to @costanza and do engage with others here. Your time on steemit will be meaningful, you'll learn a thing or two, get to know interesting folks around the world and profit by doing so. Don't be lazy (or afraid) to start a conversation.
I'm going to try an take up my own advice more, since commenting and really engaging outside my own posts is something I do too little myself.
Nice to see your are finding more ways, I tried resteemit and it works. To me the question is always if the upvote is worth the cost which most of the time is a bot message below your post which I'm in general not a fan of unless it's really worth it like the minnowsupport upvotes.

Yesterday, @justinadams wrote a bot whose purpose is to upvote the posts of those who voted him for witness, but it went crazy and started upvoting all the comments so he took it down for now.
