Recap

This past week has been a fun one. I have achieved a lot of goals and made some new friends along the way. I have found some incredible content on Steemit and seen the generosity overflow. This week has proved to me the importance of communication.

I joined Steemit not realizing that it would be a job all on its own. Time management was not a thing. I wore myself down and found it hard to write quality content. Once I took a break from posting, I realized that it was time to limit myself. I made a schedule and so far it has helped. Shortly after I started managing my time better I was able to get more done on Steemit, for whatever reason that is. Setting this limit has also helped me get some more Spring cleaning done. Yay!

I have noticed the generosity in each other lift the spirits of those in need. Many people that are so willing to give back to the Steemit community. Through these people, incredible content has been found along the way. The drive to see others succeed has filled my heart with so much joy.

The engagement that I have seen around here lately has truly been incredible. Last week, my Music Heals the Soul contest was meant to help us learn more about each other, in a fun way. Music is important in our lives and I believe we can learn a lot about another person through their choice of music. This contest accomplished just that, we were able to learn about others through music, we also added a few new songs and artist to our playlist. 🎶

You all did amazing in the contest but in the end only one can walk away with the prize. Let's take a look at the entries -

Shout Out Saturdays

In case you missed these awesome people, here is a recap of what happened in your community.

newbie.gif

@davemccoy hosted an incredible Play 4 A Newbie challenge. Dave found contest for the players to engage in, we then entered the contest on behalf of the newbies. Every game that was won by him and the players, sent their prize in for this challenge. The engagement that I seen through those contest, was just incredible. The team players really engaged in the contest and those who hosted contest seen a boost in engagement. You can check out the winners here - Play 4 a Newbie Challenge - Winners

This challenge was really thoughtful. It helped many users to learn, meet new people and have fun while doing so.

@greetersguild has had a rise this last week. With an increase in SP, members and new users are now rewarded on a higher level. This has caused a drastic boost in the motivation of those involved. I have seen the new users over the moon with happiness when they see so many people that want to help them succeed. So many people that do help them succeed. The excitement and thankfulness that the new users bring to us, is exactly what we want.

More people are joining together on discord to bring the learning experience to a higher level. The classrooms are growing and seeing so many start to attend, has been amazing. We are now gaining more Greeters and Scouts to SGG. Through the system that is run by @greetersguild, more new users are able to have a proper welcome to the Steemit platform.

This last week, we had a scout bring a new user for us to Greet. Once I got there I noticed 5 comments total, this was after a few days that the post went live. 1 comment from a bot, 1 comment that said, "nice post" and 3 thoughtful comments from SGG Greeters. Had our Greeters not been there, that person would have had 2 comments and neither one clearly read the post or showed any real interest. Can you imagine how much SGG members had boosted the confidence in this user by having thoughtful comments that were so welcoming?

@Greetersguild has a system and the system is working. What we sought out to do, is being accomplished. What a success this past week has been for SGG!

@juicyvegandwarf

@juicyvegandwarf has provided us with an amazing post that I believe everyone should check out. This is a small piece of what you can find on his post -

If we were all living, working, producing, consuming within the eco system then money becomes less important but rather the time we each spend contributing to the system achieves the goal. Rather than working in meaningless positions giving away our time in exchange for money to then pay someone else or an outside factor to come in and do our jobs or supply our resources we generate our own and benefit directly from our efforts. This is just the surface though, not only would we gain back our lives, get to quit our meaningless and soul destroying jobs but we would learn new skills, find our place and begin to enjoy certain aspects of this system that we can choose to spend more of our time participating in.

I will leave the rest for you to read but he has a brilliant idea and is looking for support from us! Check the post out here -Can Blockchain, Crypto, Permaculture and Nature be integrated?

This is just a quick recap as to what is going on in the Steemit community. There are so many wonderful projects, initiatives, talent and ideas passed through Steemit daily. All we have to do is get out there and communicate, quickly we will find all of those incredible people.

Nice update, thanks for forwarding the steem to Play 4 a Newbie. In case people are wondering, I did some serious discord room cleaning mid week. With spring almost here in Alaska, I hope to be able to get out doors more often, and had to so some discord spring cleaning, I was up to 16 rooms, it was to much. I cut back to just three for now, and will slowly likely re-add over time. The three I still have are steemitramble, they were the very first to invite me to discord.

The other two are newbieresteemday and IFC, so you can find me in there. Unfortunately gina-bot no longer works for me, but I do use steemworld and the mentions function works pretty well, I just do not get the discord mentions. In both of newbieresteemday room and IFC room, they are open rooms no need to join or be approved or anything like that, you can just drop in.

Very nice update @magicalmoonlight, maybe others will do as I did, and leave short updates.

That is completely understandable. It is a lot to handle all at once. Thank you for updating us. Do I contact @davemccoy about who I send the reward to?

Yes, that would be easiest.

I loved your part about the newbie greeted by the SGG. We are growing stronger thanks to great people with a heart like you 😉

You were one of the 3, so thank you! We appreciate all that you do for SGG. We are making a difference.

thanks for the weekly update . And your work with SGG . It an amazing place that helps us minnows grow and learn .

Yes it is. We have such a great group of people there already. All of your hard work for SGG is so appreciated.

I've been having a great time in SGG. Some really awesome people there.

As far as this statement goes:

I wore myself down and found it hard to write quality content.

I am kind of going through this myself at the moment. I am always thinking of new material to write, and sometimes it gets to the point of mental exhaustion. I think your advice to limit, and set some kind of a schedule, is sound advice.

The #openmic contest on Steemit is really awesome too!! I try to contribute every week, and have been able to deliver thus far. Check it out sometime!

oh...Semper Fi, to your Pa.

Much love,
@futuremind

We appreciate having you with us at SGG! I was always told that when it gets to that point, it is best to take a day or two off until something really clicks. Sometimes I feel like I need to post everyday to keep up with everything but it really helps me to take a few days off now. I hope you can find some sort of middle ground.

For me it is better to take some time off and write a nice quality post when I get back, then I have better luck with the payout. If I struggle to think of something and just throw stuff together, I don't get much. By that point, I have already spent so much of my brain power and wasted hours on a post that was lower quality. When I try to think of something but can't, I go about by day not thinking of a topic. That is when stuff comes to me best for post, when I am not trying, lol.

I haven't checked the open mic contest out yet but I definitely will. Is there a certain page or just the tag?

You simply click on the tag and it will take you to #openmic posts!

Yes I am struggling to find that middle grounds. I guess you could say I am in break mode right now lol. It does seem like when I take a break from time to time, I usually end up creating a better post. It's strange how that works.

Congratulations! Your post has been selected as a daily Steemit truffle! It is listed on rank 16 of all contributions awarded today. You can find the TOP DAILY TRUFFLE PICKS HERE.

I upvoted your contribution because to my mind your post is at least 21 SBD worth and should receive 100 votes. It's now up to the lovely Steemit community to make this come true.
