The Fate of The Furious Review.

It was a very boring weekend and I decided to make myself useful. Well, I am always useful even though I am just sitting doing nothing. I feel I deserve to be that way (resting). Just kidding.

Watching action and tech movie sometimes makes me relax and allows me to discover what’s new around the world. This way I also learn something new and most importantly, I am able to generate new ideas. It’s really fun.

I just finished watching the movie titled “The fate of the furious (2017).” The movie is quite interesting and very educational in so many ways, so I will be sharing my review on this wonderful movie.

Summary

Dom and Letty were on their honeymoon and the rest of his team were in different part of the world. A mysterious woman comes who seduced Dom and made him turn his back on his family by using Dom’s wife and son as a bait. Dom had to execute lot of dangerous missions for this woman just to keep both wife and son alive, but while executing these missions, he was also looking for an escape route. His team were all brought into trial as they all seemed not to understand what happened to the man who made them family (Dom); they were all trying to stop him one way or another whenever he wais on a mission. During one of his missions for this mysterious woman, Dom was able to communicate with someone anonymously, which gave a way for him to become free from the bondage. After he became free, he rushed to save his team who were under pursuit and were about to be knocked out.

I am more interested in the following aspects of this movie:respect and the technological aspect.

Respect

From the beginning of the movie, Dom was called to come see what’s happening to his cousin brother. When he arrived there, he found a very wealthy guy trying to hijack the cousin's car. Then Dom asked why. The wealthy guy replied saying his cousin brother needed some money, which he gave to him, it’s time for him to refund back the money and he could not and for that reason, he is taking over his car.

While Dom was trying to tell his cousin always to make deals he know is sure of, the wealthy guy then interrupted telling Dom’s cousin brother to make deals he isn’t sure of. Now this is an improper statement made by this wealthy guy. For this, Dom told this guy that if he wants a car, he should get it the right way. This means that they have to race a car and whoever wins takes the other person’s car. At this point, Dom’s cousin interrupted the conversation, warning Dom that this wealthy guy has the fastest car on the island and that the island belongs to the wealthy guy also.

Dom wasn’t moved by his cousin's warning. Rather, he turned to the wealthy guy with confidence, telling him “it doesn’t matter what’s under the hood, what really matters is the person behind the wheels.” The wealthy guy challenged Dom to race his cousin’s car, which happens to be the slowest on that island. Dom agreed and accepted the challenge. Before the race,; Dom added something new to his cousin’s car to enhance its speed during the race.

The race started and both were on the move trying to get to the finish line first. During the race, this wealthy guy coursed lots of inconveniences to Dom just to see that Dom lost, but all his efforts were all in vain and Dom still beat him to the finish line.

After Dom won the race the wealthy guy walked up to Dom and this was their dialogue.

The wealthy guy: A deal is a deal. You won my car, and you’ve earned my respect. Handing Dom the car key.
Dom: Keep the car, your respect is enough for me.

Now, this blew my mind. Many people would most likely collect the car, but Dom did not.

We are in a world where thing like respect, love, happiness, etc., cannot be bought with money. However, our action towards others does.

The most amazing thing is when you earn a fellow human's respect, you have no idea what that individual can do for you nor do you know your worth in front of those who respects you. So be the best you can be and make the best out of this world.

Technology

Technology is something which has been in existence since the beginning of mankind. Every day, new machines are built, softwares are launched, and new ideas are created.

The people of the earth are really working hard to throw the world into a more digitalized and automated place. Technology keeps growing and I don’t think anything can stop it. Not now, not ever. Except if all men become extinct.

In this modern world, self-driving cars already exist, a technology used in this movie. Truth be told, I’ve always wondered about how secure any new and existing technology is when it comes to hacking.

Sometimes I do wonder what might happen if these tech devices fall into the wrong hands and become a great threat to the community and to the world at large.

In the movie, one scene kept bothering me after I watched it: a very dangerous hacker, in a secured, anonymous private jet with lot of supercomputer and servers owned by a very selfish woman who wants to use all these devices to control the physical world. She gained access to CCTV cameras (both private and public), to self driving vehicles, and even hijacked a submarine. What actually bothered me mostly was when the self-driven cars were all turned into zombies. And there was nothing that could be done to stop it. Even if they were, a lot of harm might already have been done.

CONCLUSION

We already know that the world of technology is growing at a very fast pace. In fact, it’s running at the speed of light. Ideas are being generated from different individuals almost every second. But I am very sure that in every new tech discovered, there are always the good and the bad people around trying to use this tool. However, if they fall into the wrong hands, they will do more bad than good
