Promo-Steem weekly roundup : week ending 15 April 2018

Last week was one great big week for Promo-Steem.

After months of hard graft and thorough planning the Promo-Steem team led by @anarcotech, @starkerz and @stephenkendal pulled off the project's biggest achievement to date with a magnificent presence at the London Cryptocurrency Show.

I offer my fullest congratulations to Dylan, Matt, Stephen and everyone involved in making this all happen. I would have loved to have got along to the event but Matt just couldn't spare the Promo-Steem helicopter for an early morning pick-up from west Wales. Next time we will make that happen...

However the success of the Show, as well as my imminent appointment as a Steem Ambassador, gave me the idea to put together a round-up of all the great Promo-Steem activities going on around the world each week.

If this works out well then I will aim to produce this every Sunday (along with my weekly Radio Show listings post).

I will primarily be scanning the #promo-steem tag to find the best promo-steem news and events. If you know of any good promo-steem happenings coming up that you think should be included do let me know.

I will be experimenting with the format, but will primarily be dividing the post up by continent.

Europe & Rest of the World

Promo-Steem activity in Europe for the past week was of course dominated by the London Cryptocurrency Show on Saturday. This was a highly successful event for Promo-Steem taking the message of steem to at least 1500 people in attendance.

The Promo-Steem team also managed to bring in some key people from various steem blockchain projects to show them to the crypto investor world. These included @elear, @techslut and @wehmoen from Utopian, @howo and @frederikaa from Steempress, @dunsky from eSteem, and @mrs.steemit from @appics. Unfortunately @ejemai from @stach was not able to make it but @anarcotech presented on his behalf.

There are many great blogs and vlogs about the show but these ones from @anarcotech, @cryptocurator, @exyle, @rea and @steevc capture the essence of the show :

Africa

In Uganda @yohan2on is busy signing people up to steemit including the country's no. 2 tennis player David Oringa @oringa :

Earlier in the week @yohan2on had managed to sign up 3 volleyball players :

@yohan2on also came up with an excellent idea to give out steemit.com branded pens to university students :

Elsewhere in Uganda @ireneblessing has been doing great work promoting steemit, even going door to door in her village with good results:

Meanwhile @battebilly and @jaraumose have been hitting the streets of the capital city Kampala giving out flyers and stickers promoting steem :

Asia

In Aceh in Indonesia there is a growing community of #promo-steemrural councils being established to promote steem in rural areas. These posts by @suheri and @andestra tell more about this :

Also in Indonesia Komunitas Steemit Indonesia (KSI) and the Meetup Hunter Team (@faizarfatria, @dilimunanzar, @my451r and @abieikram) have been organising a meetup in Lhokseumawe :

In Malaysia a group of steemians (@veenang , @beverlyjoe , @chanelcalestus and @haroldmark86) backed by Steem Ambassador @danieldoughty are raising funds to help the boys at San Damiano Boys Hostel :

In the Philippines @jassennessaj and @nielfid held a great event promoting steemit to senior high school students :

@jassennessaj has also been busy promoting the Steemit Basketball League :

Also in the Philippines @steemph, @aalagenesis and @grazz had the opportunity to promote steem at the RevUP Diliman Motorshow :

America

In the city of Merida in Venezuela @exqueila, @pablitomoreno, @josegregori and @felixrodriguez have organised a very successful meeting to promote steem :

      It looks some good things is done with success of the crypto currencies show in London. Yesterday i was watching the video by utopian which made me happy to see a lot of people there. Best of luck with the promo steem :)
