ColorChallenge - Do Red Roses Taste Better? - Monday's Red

All the books I've read about eating rose petals say the red ones are tastiest. But I disagree - at least based on the roses here at Haphazard Homestead. I have red, yellow, white, pink, orange/yellow, and even a blue rose. Every one of them tastes better than any of my red roses. This deep red rose is pretty, but it has a strong tannin flavor and is astringent like an unripe persimmon. Not my favorite!

fleur12doubleredim.pnghappy to meet you again here @haphazard-hstead indeed... ^_^ I remember how I enjoyed your posts on eating the plants at the great time of Tsu ;-)

Thanks, @barbara-orenya! I'm still eating a lot of wild plants! And I still miss TSU. It was a special place. Steemit is different, but its business model is a lot more sustainable over the long run, I think. And there are other TSU folks here, too. I hope you have a lot of success here!

Welcome back! I'm really glad to see your post again after very long time! :D
Beautiful red rose! I love every colors of roses, but haven't eat them before! Will try some day! ;)

Thanks, @tangmo. I hope I can be as consistent in my posting as you are! If you eat any rose petals, just make sure they are from roses that haven't been sprayed with anything! :O

You're welcome! Yeah! I'm very much happy to know that and looking forward to seeing your next posts with much interest! ;D
So, as to make sure about the roses, I have to start planting them in my little garden now! ;)

It's nice to know you have a little garden! I'll be posting more about roses, for sure!

That'll be really great! I look forward to seeing them with pleasure! ;D

I like the deep color. @haphazard-hstead :)

Thank you. That color isn't adjusted at all. It's such a deep red!

Where the heck you been @haphazard-hstead? I was concerned you had foraged a poison mushroom or something!!! Welcome back....

haha -- I've been eating a lot of wild things while I've been gone, but they have all been delicious, lol. Thanks for the welcome back! I hope your drought has ended!

But what a beautiful rose and what a beautiful color!

haha -- thanks, @sardart. Roses are so pretty!

Thanks for resteeming my red rose, @sardart!

Beautiful coloured Rose :)

Thanks! It's such a deep red color, it really is a pretty rose.

It is, I can imagine bush full off those flowers

This rose has really long canes - it would make a big shrub if I let it get too wild, lol! And then it grabs anyone going by - mostly me! Ouch!

Ohhh a guard Rose sounds better than a dog lol

I used to have a big Gooseberry bush by my kitchen door. It had lots of stickers on it. It was a great barrier for anyone that didn't know about it! Roses are even better!

I have 2 pink Rose bushes, they flower every year but the tree its self is taking ages to thicken out

Pink roses are so pretty! It's interesting how different varieties grow. Maybe we will see your pink flowers here on Steemit. If you ever taste them, I'd like to read how yours were. Every variety is so different -- at least they are consistent from year to year. Stop and smell the roses! :D

They sure look better :-)

haha -- I agree! Red roses are some of the prettiest out there!

I would definitely eat rose petals if not for air polution. I live in down town. Once that changes there will be roses in my salads :) Followed!
