Hello fellow steemians!

Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 150 SBD! Today you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to a continent of Australia. I am also adding a New Zealand to the same challenge as there were some concerns from other steemians to which continent will NZ go to.

Your entries need to be submitted by the midnight of Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only one picture to be submitted for a daily photo challenge. The rule number one is to use only personal images. Ten winning photos will receive an upvote from me from which I will pick one winner that will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts.

The winner of daily challenge then competes against winners from other continental challenges of the respective week to receive the price of 15 SBD. That will be decided by you based on the dollar value of upvotes of my winning post announcement. The winning weekly picture then automatically enters other rounds for the price of 150 SBD in total.

Please see the Asian Sunday winner and give him support if you like his image to be the one winning the weekly price and entering the other stages of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge: 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday – winner announcement!.

@guibe80 entry post for Asian Sunday is below:

And this is a bonus picture of me and who later became my wife washing elephants in the Mekong river. We are on top of the elephants "washing" them, at the end, we end up equally wet.

This is my submission supporting the contest. I'm just trying to do my bit. This picture is from Papua New Guinea in the Australian Continent in a remote Island called New Ireland. If you want to read about the context of this pic and see other pictures, I invite you to see my post about it here

This is me with one of my most valuable possessions a Malagan mask. The person next to me is called Ben Sisia, and he is one of the last of the old-time Malagan (local tribe) carvers. Meaning, he carves totems and masks following the Malagan tradition of the Nalik area. This mask is one of the last made in the traditional way that is used in rituals and dances. According to their tradition, this kind of trade can only be passed from father to son. At the time his son didn't want to learn, but recently I read a blog where said that now he's being trained by his father. It is an honour have a piece of art and culture from this tribe.

Tomas! Great contest idea once again, happy to submit my entry below

An iconic West Australia sunset taken at the lesser know Moses Rock just north of Margaret River. These kind of sunsets aren't a rarity, especially in late Autumn which is when this was taken.

Excellent picture! Thank you so much for entering the competition. I will be announcing the winner in separate post shortly. Tomas

I'm so happy I reread this and saw you included New Zealand. Sadly my Australian pics are a little lacking. But I have a photo from New Zealand I love so much that it's been the locked screen pic on my iPhone for years. This is a picture near the town of Windwhistle on New Zealand's South Island. This is also near the Rakaia River Gorge. It's a beautiful part of New Zealand, a short drive from Christchurch. My only regret was that my trip was far too short!

Taking time to play on my solo Great Ocean Road(trip). Loch Ard Gorge is a little haven of magical time and space.

This is a great shot! Beautiful scenery and some great flexibility. I will be announcing the winner shortly. Tomas

Thanks for your post I resteemed it and I submit my photo taken by me in Salmon Bay. Situated in Rottnest 30 km far from Perth Western Australia. Once you are in this island you have to rent a bike to travel around this small island between hills, beaches and coastal cliffs. No cars, only emergency vehicles and bikes.

when approximately the announcement will be ? I will stay tuned for that

In Middle Earth at last! I was amazed at the detail the crew put into the Hobbiton set, from the splotches of moss placed by hand on the signposts to the fake tree painstakingly pieced together above Bag End.
