How to change people’s opinions?

A few nights ago, I had a long discussion with a colleague.

It is actually a small problem related to a customer. The two of us have repeatedly discussed and tangled.

The speech almost turned into a sharp knife, hanging on each other neck, forcing each other to agree with our own point of view.

The whole discussion process, I deeply feel exhausted and helpless. It’s a simple problem; the company headquarters has issued a set of general guidelines, but also a continuation of the criteria for the standard. Also, I am self-complacent, have the working experience to judge.
Interpretation and regulation are needed only because each region is different in its own specific focus.

It takes more than two hours to set facts, reason, rules, predict possible problems, etc.
In the end, I failed!

My colleague constantly uses "I understand so," I was planning to follow this standard." to express his views.

Finally, I had to give up and turn to the night's depressing insomnia.

Afterward, against the matter, I was brooding, also into reflection. For us, the outlook on life and values have been shaped, regardless of the workplace and dealing with each other; there are qualitative ideas and methods.

If you really want to change others opinion, it is harder than winning the lottery.

First, changing other’s point of view itself is a wrong cognitive problem!

There is no right or wrong point of view; it is the brain intelligence product. Only when the point of view becomes a guide to action, or company norms, will cause a lot of ambiguity, will be unified. Unity is the common denominator, on behalf of differences.

The point of view is the individuality, belongs to the personal cognition.

It is unrealistic to think that a person should give up his point of view and feel that your opinion is correct.

Secondly, instead of changing others’ point of view, it is better to set standards.

Many viewpoints are based on certain perceptions and standards. Especially in the workplace, most of the ideas and plans follow certain rules and make it impossible to judge the point of view with right and wrong. The responsibilities and methods of dealing with problems, and even the style of the company's atmosphere and leadership, following the leader’s point of view.

It is better to unify the standards than to change others’ opinions. The starting and ending points are the same, so all the methods and processes revolve around a certain center, and ultimately only the walking route is inconsistent.

Finally, look for a referee.

Everyone has their own saying. Different positions will have different methods. The expected impact will also be different.

Brainstorming is about getting creative ideas, not noisy vacuum. When opinions are generated, you cannot convince each other, because you have your truth and others have theirs too. Continue to debate, might hurt each other.

The best way is to look for referees and listen to third party opinions. Jumping out of a quarrel is also a yardstick for verifying whether an idea can be implemented. Look advice from leadership in the workplace is the solution to the problem. That is, able to express your views, and also give decision-making to the leadership.

Don't tangle, look for positive emotions, eliminate negative effects. Life, is the process, live a happy reality is the most important!
