10 Facts About Deadpool (2016) That Are Even Better Than Chimichangas

Hi movie marauders! Deadpool is an R-rated superhero film, which was a great choice. It was a huge success, and prompted other R-rated superhero films such as Logan and Venom. Deadpool stars Ryan Reynolds, who does an amazing performance. Deadpool 2 is slated for release on June 1, 2018. I am very excited for the sequel and what is next for Wade. Let's take a look at some awesome fun facts about the Deadpool movie!!

1. Ryan Reynolds (who plays Deadpool) paid out of his own pocket for writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Rease to be onset everyday for input (20th Century Fox refused to pay them for onset input).

2. Dopinder (the taxi driver) was named after a "really cool guy" that Ryan Reynolds knew in Elementary school that died from getting hit by lightning. The character is a tribute to him.

3. It took 8 hours for Ryan Reynold's full body makeup to be applied.

4. Ryan Reynolds kept the Deadpool costume after filming (no one objected to him taking it).

5. Deadpool was shot in 48 days, and has a lower budget than any X-men, Avengers, Iron Man, and Captain America films (budget-$58 million).

6. Cast members could improvise scenes, and Ryan Reynolds helped revise the script with the writers.

7. The hilarious opening credits was originally a placeholder, but director Tim Miller decided to keep it in.

8. To prepare for his role as Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds hired a swords master for training.

9. Deadpool is the highest grossing R-rated movie worldwide ($775 million), beating The Matrix Reloaded ($742 million). It is the 2nd highest grossing R-rated movie in the United States ($363 million) behind The Passion Of The Christ ($370 million).

10. During the final battle scene, the helicarrier that Deadpool and Ajax fight on is a destroyed helicarrier from Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
