10 Web-Slinging Facts About Spider-Man: Homecoming [Spoiler-Free]
Hey movie marauders! Spider-Man: Homecoming just recently came out on July 7th. It is the 3rd reboot of the beloved superhero, Spider-Man. The first being Tobey Maguire, and the second Andrew Garfield. Now, Tom Holland has taken the role of Spider-Man. This time is different, though. Spider-Man is now a part of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) all because Marvel Studios and Sony decided to work together on the movie. This movie features Vulture as the villain and a much younger Aunt May. Let's turn on our spidey sense and take a look at some fun facts about Spider-Man: Homecoming![Spoiler-Free]
1. Tom Holland plays the youngest Peter Parker ever (at 15 years old). Tom was around 19-20 years old when he shot the movie.
2. This is the first Spider-Man movie where the Spider-Man costume has re-sizable eyes, adding more expressiveness to Spider-Man (and follows the comics).
3. Spider-Man: Homecoming marks Robert Downey Jr.'s 8th time playing Tony Stark.
4. Jennifer Connelly voices Karen/Suit Lady in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Her husband, Paul Bettany voiced Jarvis in Iron Man (and he now plays Vision).
5. This movie is the first Spider-Man film where Spider-Man has his web wings from the comics.
6. Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 will be set after Avengers 4 (Avengers 4 will be released May 3, 2019). Don't worry, Spider-Man will be in Avengers: Infinity War which releases May 4, 2018.
7. Photos of Bruce Banner (Hulk) and Howard Stark (Tony Stark's father) are seen in Peter Parker's school.
8. Flash Thompson (who is a big football player in the comics) was changed to a rich/smug guy to fit today's bullies.
9. Spider-Man's goal/motivation is to become an Avenger in Spider-Man: Homecoming. We have never seen this from Spider-Man before.
10. Tom Holland auditioned for the role of Spider-Man for 5 months. He was supposed to find out if he got the part the day after his final audition. 6 weeks went by when Marvel posted on their Instagram who the new Spider-Man is, which is how Tom found out.
