10 Jaw-Dropping Facts About War For The Planet Of The Apes (2017) [Spoiler-Free]

Hey movie marauders! War For The Planet Of The Apes was released July 14, and has a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. It is also the 9th feature film of the Planet Of The Apes franchise. I have only seen the first film in the rebooted trilogy, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes (2011). I have heard great things about War For The Planet Of The Apes, so I really want to rewatch the rebooted movies. Matt Reeves directed Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes (2014) and War For The Planet Of The Apes (2017) (both got the highest Rotten Tomatoes scores out of the 3 rebooted movies).  Don't worry that this is the last movie, because a 4th Planet Of The Apes movies has already been announced! This movie got a $150 million budget. Let's take a look at some fun facts about War For The Planet Of The Apes [Spoiler-Free]

1. Both Andy Serkis (who plays Caesar) and Woody have been in Star Wars movies. (Serkis plays Snoke and Harrelson plays Beckett in the Han Solo Movie).

2. Only Terry Notary (who plays Rocket), Karin Konoval (who plays Maurice), and Andy Serkis (who plays Caesar) have been in all 3 of the rebooted Planet Of The Apes films.

3. Director Matt Reeves said that Alpha/Omega are the group of rebelling humans, which references the bomb the mutants praised in Beneath The Planet Of The Apes (1970).

4. Bad Ape was created because Andy Serkis (while he was promoting Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes) was asked if the AIZ-113 drug affected apes not in Caesar's tribe. Co-writer Mark Bomback and Matt Reeves paid attention to this, and introduced Bad Ape into War For The Planet Of The Apes.

5. Steve Zahn (who plays Bad Ape) cried after watching War For The Planet Of The Apes for the first time because he was so moved by it.

6. The girl in War For The Planet Of The Apes, Nova, is named after the character played by Linda Harrison in the first and second movies of the original series.

7. Both Andy Serkis and Terry Notary have played King Kong (Serkis-King Kong (2005)/Notary-Kong: Skull Island (2017).

8. Maurice is an Orangutan in this movie. In Planet Of The Apes (1968), Dr Zaius (the Orangutan) is played by Maurice Evans.

9. Matt Reeves said that the apes that do what the humans want are called Donkeys, which refers to Donkey Kong and how donkeys are used as pack animals.

10. A video game for War For The Planet Of The Apes is going to be made, and Andy Serkis will be doing the motion capture for it.
