Sweet mother of the living light
The mother of thelema, Leah Hersig
Through thick and thin she stuck by his side. She loved him till death. She gave birth to a daughter. A beautiful baby girl who only lived ten months before she died. Anna Leah (Poupée) Crowley. She was born on 26 Jan 1920 in Fontainebleau, France. She died on 15 Oct 1920.
Crowley wrote in his diary:
“She loves me for my work… She knows and loves the God in me, not the man; and therefore she has conquered the great enemy that hides behind his clouds of poisonous gas, Illusion.”
She stayed by crowley through all the troubles of financial struggles, medical surgeries and drug addiction. She broke off the relationship and later renewed her vows to thelema and agreed to help crowley with The Great Work and return to him to work as a secretary and scribe. She genuinely believed in him and was a major part of his life. The poem Leah Sumblime was inspired by her and crowleys relationship.
She was his Scarlet woman he also called her BABYLON.
It seems like she falls by the wayside so often -- it's nice to see this.
Yea. She loved him for the great work but falls out of love of him. Altough she never turns away from thelema.
