Same Yet Different (An Original Poem)
We talk about
different things now:
the weather, grocery lists,
what movies to watch,
how tiring the day was.
We indulge in lukewarm conversations
& we eat the food piping hot.
We don’t get late for
work anymore.
You said that we must
hit rock-bottom before
we can bounce back
so I think it’s not all that bad.
I already know your
favourite weather is rain,
you spend hours to find the
perfect box of strawberries, you love
The Little Prince &
it tires you to indulge with
everyone who is trying to fit in.
We’ll go back to cold food
& no cause of alarms.
We’re the same people
with different ways to love.
We’re talking about different things
but we’re the same.
It’s all the same. Isn’t it?
