Shadow Commander

in #informationwar4 years ago

This was the nickname given to Iran's top military strategist Qasem Soleimani during the shadow war that's been waged between America and Iran for more than a decade now. Actually that war has been going on much, much longer as you may know by now, especially if you've read any of my posts on this subject.

Even today I saw old archive footage of Joe Biden calling for a ground war and regime change in Iran way back in 1998; watch the first linked video and go to the 5:34 minute mark to see this Republican in Democrat's clothes passionately campaign for military action against Iran. This is just to show once more how these eternal wars are completely bipartisan, and why it doesn't matter which party produces the president; foreign and economic policy never really changes as both are governing in name of the rich and corporate America, not for the people of America. This is yet another reason why the only life-long independent, who has fought against the establishment elite of both parties, Bernie Sanders is the only sane choice for my American brothers and sisters come the next elections.

Soleimani came into prominence in Iran during the 8 year long Iraq-Iran war of the 1980s and is a true "child" of the 1979 Iranian revolution; this is the revolution in which Iran took down the British/American puppet regime that had ruled the country since 1953 when the CIA and MI6 organized the uprising and overthrow of the democratically elected Mohammad Mosaddegh. America and other western forces (even the Dutch had a hand in it) supplied Iraq with weapons of mass destruction, chemical weapons, in that 8 year war: from the very beginning of his career Soleimani's natural enemy has been the U.S. The invasion of Iraq in 2003 brought American soldiers into Iran's back-yard, and Soleimani had long before decided that he would do everything in his considerable power to keep the Iraq regime as unstable as possible, so they would never again have the chance to repeat what they did to Iran in the 1980s; the 2003 invasion provided him with a splendid opportunity to make good on this promise.

Bernie Goes After Joe Biden's Record On War

"I don't think we should view him as an evil person. I think we should view him just like I believe in my country I think Qasem Soleimani believes in his country, just as I would propagate, you know, the aimes of mine he would do his..." - General Stanley McCrystal

Last year, in March 2019, the BBC broadcast an hour long documentary on the life of Iran's Shadow Commander Qasem Soleimani. In that documentary several British and American military dignitaries were interviewed, one of which was American General Stanley McCrystal, and he had some striking remarks. He essentially described himself as the American version of Soleimani; they were both loyal to their countries, their people and their political leaderships, they were both fighting a shadow war complete with inciting insurgencies, targeted assassinations and so on. This is why no one should blindly repeat the politicians and pundits when they call Soleimani a diabolical person or a terrorist even; McChrystal and Soleimani are basically the same, only McChrystal fought on the side of the actual aggressors. Unfortunately you can't find the documentary on YouTube, but I did find a copy on some website in a language I do not know; it's more than worth watching though and you can do that here, although I do caution against it being from the BBC, so expect an overall bias towards western propaganda... If you're just interested in McChrystal's remarks, watch the below linked video (and turn up the volume when they play the clip from the BBC documentary).

I flew over the Middle East at the exact same time the Ukrainian plane was shot down.. I landed safely in a country where my us government told me to be on high alert.

Landing in Detroit and being interrogated for over an hour felt way more hostile than arriving into a Muslim majority country that welcomed me and my spousal visa with zero complications...

This is a small slice of exactly why I'm happily not residing in the USA currently. I've discovered my government views ex pats as essentially dissidents and for the life of all involved in the bureaucracy they cannot see why someone would voluntarily not live in trumpland..

Not surprisingly Americans that don't support Trump were fully behind the murder of Soleimani. I wasn't well versed in the specifics but I know enough about my war mongering place of birth to not take the bait hook line and sinker. Thankfully most people here in Malaysia understand that US citizens are not well represented by their government and are not buying into the latest turd shat out from the war machines ass..

Thanks so much for the response and for adding this my friend; I would hope everyone understands this, that it's not the American people who are to blame...

Likewise, but I'm still thankful others understand this.. Old 🌟 world here loves "evil slayer" that he sees Trump as soo.. Xenophobia and nationalism are extremely devolved traits but I have been blessed to get out into the world. I can almost guarantee trumpers haven't seen much beyond the place they were born..

If only a lot more people with similar views as yours would follow your move and leave America, it would become a much better place for the rest of us. Thank God we finally have someone like Trump who sees evil for what it is, and is willing to do something about it. I think you will find that the majority of Americans agree, which is why Trump will more than likely be re-elected in November.

LMAO enjoy that shithole

As always, thanks so much for the support my friends :-)

This is yet another reason why the only life-long independent, who has fought against the establishment elite of both parties, Bernie Sanders is the only sane choice for my American brothers and sisters come the next elections.

Bernie is a career politician. A controlled opposition. What he did in 2016 after getting fucked by the DNC? He went on to support HRC. So much about his principles and character.

Bernie's getting rich selling socialism to millennials.

Let's say he get elected. Do you believe he would deliver on his promises? If so, I've got a bridge to sell you.

Even if he's honest about it, congress and senate would oppose him and block all his efforts. Bernie can't change a damn thing.

Let's say he get elected. Do you believe he would deliver on his promises?

I believe he would try for all he's worth. Will he succeed? That depends on the amount of ground support he'll be able to organize. It's far from impossible, as you seem to believe. You're forgetting one simple and obvious truth: there's more of us, a whole lot more.

As for your remark on Bernie's principles: his principle while campaigning for HRC was preventing a Trump presidency. If you think that's wrong, even today, I have several bridges to sell you...

He got fucked by the DNC and HRC in 2016 and still toed the party line. You can't be fighting against the corrupt establishment and once it fuck you over, go on and support it because orange man bad. You are either against it or you're one of them. He showed his true colors then. Just another career politician.

He lost a lot of credibility right there and then.

I believe he would try for all he's worth. Will he succeed?

He won't succeed. He can't get all the Democrats in the Congress and the Senate on his side, let alone the Republicans. He would be a one term president that failed.

You're buying all my bridges, and paying handsomely for them; thank you!

He got fucked by the DNC and HRC in 2016 and still toed the party line.

No, he toed the party line that one time, if he did at all. This man has 40 years of history in politics and has been on the right side of that history 99% of the time. Him campaigning for the person that screwed him over exactly shows how principled he is and even more what his priorities are. Your argument here is making the case FOR him; thanks for buying bridge no. 1 :-)

You are either against it or you're one of them.

I know many people who wish life and reality were that simple. Fortunately most of us know it's not. In that black/white vision Bernie would have run as an independent; I'm so glad, and you should be so glad, that Bernie clearly sees the shades of gray and is able to navigate them so skillfully. Bridge number two for the gentleman in the back of the room, going once... Going twice... Sold!

Just another career politician.

Do I really need to address this? Thought not. Do you want that bridge gift-wrapped?

He won't succeed.

Here I'll refer back to the bridge you just acquired in our previous exchange.

Him campaigning for the person that screwed him over exactly shows how principled he is and even more what his priorities are.

His priorities being sucking up to the party.

Your argument here is making the case FOR him; thanks for buying bridge no. 1 :-)

I guess some people like little bitches such as Bernie.

This man has 40 years of history in politics and has been on the right side of that history 99% of the time.

You said it well - 40 years of history. In that 40 years he was the primary sponsor of 7 bills that were enacted. Do you know what are those bills? Most of them are naming public buildings!

Sanders is a little bitch that took it like a champ in 2016. I will not be surprised if he takes it again in 2020.

"Bernie's getting rich selling socialism to millennials."

Indeed he does, and his supporters are simply too naive to see that fact.

His message is seductive - vote for me and get free stuff.

No more student debt, free healthcare... A lot of people are hoping that they can get free stuff by voting for him, even thou it's clear that he wouldn't be able to deliver on his promises to anyone that looks realistically at the situation.

Unfortunately this is the downfall of virtually every socialist on the planet. They all offer "free stuff" without ever fully realizing that it would be financially impossible to comply with such massive expenditures. Sure, some of them are ignorant enough to claim that they will easily get the money by taxing the super rich, such as with Elizabeth Warren's view. What those people however fail to realize is that any extra taxes imposed on the super rich will simply be passed on to the rest of us through price increases of the goods and services that we purchase from them. Socialism might be a great idea if money grew on trees, but unfortunately it does not, and that is why Socialism will never work. It never has and never will.
