MY WORKOUT PROGRESS PICS - 219,506 Total Team Reps (+3,075) - Steemit Daily 100+ Rep Fitness Challenge - Day # 94 - 3/10/18

in #health6 years ago (edited)

PROGRESS PICS TAKEN APPROX. EVERY 30 DAYS:

REP # 11,212 on 3/9/18 (93 straight days) bulking up w/ approx. 11-14 lbs gained to 205-207 lbs

REP # 6,603 on 2/3/18 (58 straight days) toning up

REP # 3,540 on 1/7/18 (32 straight days) quick rebound

REP #1 on 12/7/17 (first day) yikes - hadn't worked out in almost a year

DONE ONLY WITH THIS 75 LB BAR, PUSH-UPS, & SIT-UPS AT HOME. NO GYM NEEDED.

While I have a long way to go, I see a big difference since starting. My chest, arms, shoulders, lats and traps have developed well. This is probably the biggest my chest has been in over 5 years. My legs have also shown good gains from squats and calf raises. My strength and endurance has seen a huge boost.

I've been eating liberally which hides my muscles a bit, but that'll change once I get into full baseball season mode and far walk more for thrifting to trim down. I've taken no supplements or shortcuts outside of some protein bars. In the last month, my clothes have gotten quite fitted, and I wasn't even close to fitting in my regular dress shirts/pants recently (had to go shopping).

I have no clue how to pose, but just try to be consistent to track my results. I just take a video of myself with lousy lighting from a lamp and crop a photo. I haven't been to the gym since Jan 11, 2017, but will get there soon so I can work on some core exercises with medicine balls and the speed bag for my baseball season.

Hope this can inspire some people to make and keep a commitment. It doesn't take much but good form and consistency. See below and join us!!

Here's the normal post of our team's hard work...

12 Steemians for 3,075 reps today (219,506 overall), done across 32 people from 9 countries in 93 days! Reps can also be counted as "100 reps" per 30 mins of dedicated cardio.

The Challenge:

At least 100 honest reps of exercise every day. No excuses. No bullsh*t. Just actions, positivity, and results. Only post AFTER your reps are done. Always support each other.

  • You choose what types of exercise reps to do.
  • 30 minutes of fitness walking, running, spinning, biking, cross-country skiing, etc., can count as 100 reps if you need to rest or can't use weights.
  • I'll award 1 SBD for every individual 10,000 rep milestone. (10 SBD paid out)
  • I manually process and update all cumulative figures daily. Not easy...

Conditions:

  • Weights not required.
  • Do real reps with good form, aiming for 100+.
  • Start your reply with "Challenge Completed".
  • Reply with a list of the exercises and reps you did.
  • Cumulative tallies are appreciated as a separate line.
  • Only submit reps you've done, not ones you're planning to do.
  • Use the tag "fitnesschallenge" on associated posts.
  • Upvoting or resteeming is appreciated to reach more.

Advice:

  • Stretch before and after exercise.
  • Breathe properly on each rep.
  • Quality over quantity.
  • Eat a healthy snack after and stay hydrated.
  • Start with exercises you enjoy to build up for harder ones.
  • Take before pictures to appreciate results over time.
  • Feel good about your accomplishments.

My Daily Challenge Completed - 100 reps:

-100 Reps - Rest Day (1 hour+ walking)

My Daily Assessment:

I had an unexpected change of plans this evening and have to get up very early on Sunday, so I counted two long walks I normally wouldn't have because I want to lead with weights today.

Feedback from @mightpossibly:

"I find it deeply satisfying to do these reps, which is a big deal. I've always hated the gym and prefer to exercise at home. But I've lacked the discipline to do it. It sort of feels like I have gym buddies now, without the hassle of going to the gym."

Feedback from @notorious562:

"I seriously cannot explain how much this group pushes and motivate me to keep working harder. I love this fitness community and the support and encouragement will help us achieve our goals."

Feedback from @khufu:

"Your challenge has helped immensely to keep me motivated lately. I've had a lot of... problems going on so your challenge has been a quantum of sanity in an insane world for me."

Day 1 to day 32 shows a quick rebound. That's crazy! It's nice to have the motivation of steemit to stay on track. I have found there are things I'm doing that I ordinarily might be too lazy to do otherwise. I love this platform for that.

I'm not into reps, but I do steps on my fitbit. I guess that counts for something? :0)

Good job all around!

Steps would count. They are good exercise. Figure out how many reps would be allotted per minute and start posting the number. Good luck.

Challenge completed 350 reps

Fairly mild session tonight.

Today, was my very first 15K at the beach. I had a blast was very fun and I surprised myself by getting 2nd place in the men's division. I look forward to doing many more 15K and am looking into doing a Half Marathon 13.1 in the near future.

Challenge Completed - 100 reps

100 reps - 1 hour of yoga

What's your inspiration/goal for yoga?

To balance out my typical workouts. I definitely think it’s good for me. I’ve always been inflexible and had pretty poor posture. I also find yoga relaxing and feel better after my sessions. However with typical resistance training I usually don’t feel that great after a workout. I also want to get into meditation and mindfulness, I’ve just never really had the patience.
