Now, after the class on battle magic, it was the right time to ask the master about forbidden techniques. Therefore, I, as if chance turned to him:
"Teacher, I wanted to ask you one question that bothers me, since I visited the library."
Lucas looked at me carefully and smiled.
"Is your question is about master Largo?" Do not be afraid Daniel, at the first meeting, this old man can be really fearsome. But believe me, he's a harmless man who spent too much time alone."
"No, my question is not about master Largo."
"Then about what?"
"A friend of mine who took me to the library told me that master Largo punishes those who read books that describe forbidden techniques. Please tell me, why are they considered to be forbidden?"
Lucas looked at me warily, slowly giving his answer.
"Why do you need this, Daniel?"
"I want to catch up with the rest of the adepts in my studies. Master Amador has advised me to study all the material myself. So I'm trying to follow his advice, but there are things that I cannot understand on my own."
Probably, my arguments seemed convincing to the master, because the mistrust in his expression had disappeared.
"So be it, I will give you the answer to your question. Techniques of water magic are divided into regular and forbidden. Usually, magicians use only the power that they really have. But there are people in the world, the descendants of the first-born magicians, who are able to turn their vital energy into the energy of Eyvaz, thus creating magic, which power in many times exceeds regular. But listen to me, the price is huge. For the use of forbidden techniques, a magician pays with years of their life, and in some cases, the price is death."
Master made a pause, giving more intrigue to our conversation.
"This is not the only reason why such techniques are forbidden to use. The destructive power they possess leaves too many scars on the body of the Earth. Look around, how do you think this gorge has appeared?"
I looked at the teacher with surprise.
"Really?"
"Exactly! For today, the lesson is over, we return to the tower."
Lucas took the amulet out of his pocket, took my hand and we teleported to the door of my room.
"Have a good rest, Daniel, tomorrow I'll teach you how to work with magic stones."
The master turned and, limping walked away.
Despite the teacher's words about the danger of using forbidden techniques, my curiosity turned out to be stronger. I decided to immediately study the book that Master Largo gave me.
I closed the door on the latch and lit a candle. Then I went to the chest and, moving it away, took the ancient writings hidden under it. At that moment, I felt like a criminal who broke the law, but there was no choice. Every cell of my body urged me that I must gain strength.
The book was so interesting that I missed lunch and dinner. The night reigned outside, but I did not want to stop reading. Information in it has consisted of three sections: the methods of transforming vital energy into Eyvaz energy, defensive, and offensive techniques.
From the first section, I realized that the life energy is the energy that makes us live. Unlike Eyvaz's energy, it can neither be suppressed nor neutralized. Life energy can be transferred from one state to another, by changing its polarity. The source of the transformation was anger, which should be directed to a certain area of the subconscious. But there was a secret here, it was not only necessary to get angry, but to learn how to manage this force, otherwise, there was a risk of losing control, exposing yourself to danger. But this did not frighten me at all, because I also came to the conclusion that if I do not lose control, I can increase my strength several times, without risking my life. The pitfalls of this method lie in the complexity of control because anger is not an emotion that is easy to control.
I decided that after training with the master, I will separately practice this method. And I am going to chose for this, the simplest forbidden protective technique described here - a water shield.
Hiding the book under the chest, I went to bed, only now realizing how hungry I was.
