Weekly Update of the Fiction TrailsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #fiction8 years ago (edited)

This is the first update of the new and very active Fiction-Trail, a subset of SteemTrail.

We help fiction writers on Steemit by reading, commenting and voting on their fiction. In that order.

Our goals are twofold:

  1. Help writers by commenting and encouraging their work
  2. Reward the best content rather than just the most active post.

One of our curators will read a post listed under the Fiction tag, and recommend it to the Fiction-Trail, where it is read by at least one other member. If there are editing problems or other minor issues that need to be fixed to give it a better chance that SteemTrail will upvote it, those comments will be on the Fiction-Trail board and we will revote when the editing is done.

So far we have read, discussed and/or voted to promote 22 stories within the Fiction Tag.

In general this gives each story, listed below, many more votes. For my personal posts it basically doubles my reward. More importantly, in my opinion, it means more people actually read all these stories. That's what I'm really here for...

To have your own stories read and discussed and possibly voted on, be sure to use the Fiction Tag as your first tag when you write and edit your story, checking our guidelines if necessary.

is it more about frictionTrail rather Fiction right ? @baerdric

Fiction-trail is completely about fiction. I'm not sure I understand your question.

Well this was a good thing to discover! I just made an account at steemtrail but no one appears to be on. I'm curious about all of it. I wish I would've known about this earlier today, I thought story was where you posted fiction, I don't think I've ever seen the fiction tag. I actually used it my first day on steemit for my first episode of the playground series but then when I went to the homepage I didn't see it in the list of categories.

I've seen people post fiction in Story and Writing, but since those both take in so many other things, it seems fiction needs it's own tag. Story wcould be a true story, or a post about people who make up stories, or a review of a story. Writing seemed to be mostly people who write factual articles and opinion pieces.

And yes, up until about two weeks ago the fiction tag was disused and neglected, but that's all changed now.

Okay, so am I also supposed to alert you when I'm putting something in fiction for you to consider? Or will people be monitoring it? I just posted an introduction to a novel that I plan to start posting chapters of very soon :) I put fiction as the first tag of course.

No, we search the tag. By now probably two of our curators have looked at your intro. When I finish with replies in the morning it's the next thing I do.

But if you want to you can self post it to the fiction-trail. We read, evaluate and comment on every post we can find.

I was hoping to spend time doing this myself until I started NaNoWriMo in November and had no time or energy left! Glad to see you take the initiative.

I have resteemed this post.

Thanks, I'm hoping it gets a lot of attention so that fiction writers will have a home.

This post has been ranked within the top 80 most undervalued posts in the first half of Dec 27. We estimate that this post is undervalued by $3.93 as compared to a scenario in which every voter had an equal say.
