You heard it right folks, 8 Steem exclusive music videos in one post! You cannot see these videos anywhere else on the wide wide web!

FUN FACT! DTube deletes your old videos! Forever! Gone!
Yes that is right. I uploaded 8 awesome (in my humble opinion) Steem exclusive music videos to DTube as part of my Gnash Song Challenge. And they are now gone. Deleted. Nada. Zilch. Zappo. Zowie. DTears...
If you visit my channel on d.tube right now you would be forgiven for thinking me a right DTube newbie with only but a single upload to my name! Every other video I have ever uploaded to DTube doesn't even show up, period, on my profile!!!

By the way that lone DTube video you will find on my channel is still in payout and I personally think it is the best song video I have made for Steem yet! The @dtube curation team may have missed it, but you don't have to! Check it out, I made a really nice music video for a nostalgic song with footage from my recent trip to Alaska.But Gnashster nobody can find old content on Steem anyway...
So who cares if you have a bunch of empty junk posts on your blog?I CARE!!!
I take extra care to make my old content easily discoverable. I provide a link to my Steem Blog Archive in my blog header. I provide back links to previous episodes in all my (many) ongoing posting series. I don't want a bunch of dead videos in posts that I can no longer edit!
So needless to say...
No more dtube for me. You can read their policy RE deleting old videos to save server space for yourself in the FAQ in the DTube Discord server . I am honestly not sure how many people know this. For a content creator this has to be a deal breaker right? RIGHT?!? Maybe at some point in the future d.tube will be a viable video hosting platform but at the moment it cannot deliver the very most basic functionality of... you know... hosting your videos...EIGHT STEEM EXCLUSIVE MUSIC VIDEOS
All eight of these songs are not just Steem exclusive, they were written as part of the Gnash Song Challenge based on comment prompts from other Steem-ians! fun fact i came to steemit because of d-tube. Fleeing the climate and bad behaviour of Youtube toward it's content creators. After a few weeks I stopped using d-tube for the reasons you listed but stayed with steemit .

oooouch dude. I wondered where my videos had gone..... I just assumed I was an idiot (which is fairly well founded Im afraid). Damn. This is a bit of a game changer......
Yeah I honestly don't know how many people know this. Why would you ever use @dtube as long as this is the policy? @dlive is the absolute and clear choice.

I was planning to start sharing my upcoming film project - Tunnels of the Shadow People - on here but now I wonder if I should use YouTube after all.
Wasn't the idea of the blockchain/ steemit and one of the things that made it stand out from other parts of / locations on the Internet - that everything is being saved?

Yeah well that is the idea about the text stored on blockchain anyway but the pictures and videos have never been part of the chain. DLive doesn't delete old videos... I am a convert now. Not to mention that the video upload works 100 times better for DLive than it does for DTube. Seriously I was actually pretty pissed off when I realized that not only did my old DTube videos not play, they didn't even appear on my profile. I can only assume that most people don't even know this. Why in the world would a content creator knowingly choose to upload videos somewhere that is just going to delete them?

He hee, I quit using DTube months ago when I couldn't playback my own videos. I recently uploaded a half our show just to see how long it will last; things can change. I still have play back issues with many videos that hit the DTube landing page and I assume the same is true for others trying to see mine. Failed playback is a missed opportunity for the video maker; hope they fix it because I can't. Greetings.
