I'm Ethan Smith, and this is the STEEM Engine Express.

We begin today with a post about images. Including images in your Steemit blogs is a great way to make the presentation more attractive and relate to your readers. Since you are able to make money from Steemit blogs, using images that aren't licensed for commercial use is generally not a good idea. Therefore, STEEM Engine passenger @therosepatch has taken it upon herself to point us in the direction of several great websites that provide images with Creative Commons licenses, meaning you may use them in your Steemit blogs! Whether you already use images or you are looking to implement them for the first time, I encourage you to check out the websites in @therosepatch's latest blog. Not only will your posts look great, but you won't have to worry about using images that aren't your own!

Steemit is a great platform for sharing music, and this week, @silentscreamer shared thoughts from her journey so far as a musician who shares her work on the platform. She recounts what it has been like to join Steemit and see rewards for her entries into the Steemit Open Mic competition. I encourage you to read @silentscreamer's thoughts on Steemit so far and be sure to check out her music while you're visiting. It's pretty great!

Online safety is important. Even more so on Steemit, where your login not only gives access to your account, but also your STEEM wallet. This means Steemit is a frequent target of phishing scams, where a website appearing to be Steemit.com asks for your account's active key and uses it maliciously to drain your account of funds. STEEM Engine Passenger @shai-hulud shared a post highlighting how convincing some of these efforts can be as well as many active steps you can take to protect your account. It is also worth noting that when Steemit, Inc. discovers these websites, they do issue takedown requests, but as we know, these attempts to gain access to accounts will continue, so be sure to read this post and arm yourself against fraudulent activity!

STEEM Engine newcomer @qberry has begun an account with his wife called @qberryfarms, where they share various blogs about activities on their farm. This week, they shared a delicious-looking dessert recipe called "Poor Man's Pie a la Mode" that consists of crescent rolls and cherry filling. If you're looking for a quick and easy dessert recipe, be sure to stop by, and give the account a follow if you're interested in following the continuing adventures on @qberryfarms.

Finally this week, we take a look at a great service called SteemAuto. As part of his ongoing Technically Speaking series, passenger @maxyong blogged this week on the ins and outs of SteemAuto, which allows you to use your Steemit posting keys to set up automatic voting rules. You can set your account to follow an account's curation trail so that your account votes on every post the selected account does. You may also schedule posts and vote on other users' comments. Many curation efforts have trails to follow, including The STEEM Engine, so if you are interested in using your votes to support various initiatives, head on over to @maxyong's post to learn how to use SteemAuto!

That's all for today's curation segment, so grab your tickets and hop off at today's Featured Station. The BuddyUP Project is a brand new initiative begun by STEEM Engine passenger @calumam, which seeks to pair up users within a Discord server so that they can get to know each other and provide feedback on blog posts through meaningful engagement. You can read more about the initiative by visiting @calumam's blog or by joining the BuddyUP Discord today!

The STEEM Engine Express features five of the best posts curated by the STEEM Engine each week across the Steemit platform. The Express is produced by Ethan D. Smith exclusively for The STEEM Engine initiative on Steemit.com, and is featured throughout the week on the SteemStar.net radio network.

That's all for this week's episode! To read posts mentioned in today's Express or to listen to past episodes, visit steemit.com/@ethandsmith. I hope you'll catch the next Express!
