I had to be up really early today to be in town for a very early dentist appointment. Thankfully I didn’t have my wires tightened. I’ve been really looking forward to eating junk food this weekend, after being good all week. I’m afraid to say I have no dreams for you from last night. Not even a teeny weeny one! I will still tell you about last night though. I’m sure a lot of you will be able to relate.

So as mentioned I haven't got one solitary dream to tell you about, but this is how my night went.
It was about 10pm when I was laying in bed watching Moonshiners with my husband. I knew I had to get up at crazy o’clock, so I decided to retreat to another bed where it would be nice and quiet and no disturbances! I even had a fresh hot water bottle made up, as I know the warmth sends me to sleep.
I made sure the door was closed, so my cat couldn’t disturb me. Then I got into bed with my hot water bottle, put my eye mask on and snuggled deep down into the bed, wrapping the duvet around me. It was lovely and quiet. You could hear a pin drop!
'Why even with my mask on was I wide awake?!' I have no TV in the room, I had not been using my phone or any electronic device. How come I felt like someone had switched the lights on in my head? Usually, when I am awake, I worry. It could be anything from forgetting to make a phone call or just worrying about the ’What Ifs’.
I must have mucked around with my pillows and sleeping position hundreds of times. I just couldn’t get comfy. When I did, there would always be that piece of hair over my face or pulling under my head. ”For God’s Sake!” I shouted under my breath! ”I just want to sleep!”
So I relied on counting sheep. I closed my eyes and counted slowly, trying to picture the number in my head as I was counting. This didn’t help. I got to about 65 and I ripped my eye mask off. There was only going to be one solution. ’Prescription Pills’. I took one of my old prescription tablets as I know that makes me drowsy as hell and knocks me right out. 40 mins later, I was still awake!
At some point, the tablets must have kicked in. I woke up briefly at 12:30am and then 3:30am. When I woke at 3:30am, I tough it was a lot earlier than that. Trouble is, I knew my alarm was set to go off at 4am, then 5am reaching the final alarm which was set for 6am! You see, I am one of these people that gradually has to wake up. Knowing I have another couple of hours is much better than knowing I have to get up in 5 mins!
Finally, my last alarm went off. I have to say I could have done with another 6 hours sleep! Even in the car I felt like dozing. I was in the passenger seat. The worst thing was knowing I had a 30 min walk back to the train station and another 45 min walk from the destination station to home. Plus it was wet and windy! Delightful!! Anyhow, hopefully I will sleep much better tonight and I will have some dreams to tell you about tomorrow.
If you enjoyed this post, why not read my diary.
