The Winners!
And now the most intriguing part of the contest. I had to choose only one winner out of all participants. But after reading all the poems, I was impressed by two very different but equally beautiful voices, female and male. So there will be two winners with different main prizes. They are...
… @katrina-ariel with her poem This Path...
Poetry has been helping me process the human experience since I was young. It has also been instrumental as I've evolved in my writing and musical pursuits. --@katrina-ariel
… and @raj808 with his poem The Blazing Heart of Danko
I became serious about creative writing as a vocation in 2003 when I took a degree in Imaginative writing at university. After an extended period of writers' block, I discovered Steemit. Over the course of the last year writing on this platform, I have both rediscovered my passion and re-learned my craft. I will be eternally grateful to this community for helping me get back to the point where writing every day is just a natural part of my life. --@raj808
As for the prizes, we've found out ways to reward both winners:
- @katrina-ariel: Whaleshares community will support your next 10 posts with whale votes.
- @raj808: You will receive 200 BEYONDBIT tokens and 500 DBREAD tokens.
And for both of you:
- The Isle of Write community will post a feature dedicated exclusively to you and your blog content and also add you to its auto vote for the next 30 days.
- You will get my 100% upvotes for the next 30 days (1 post a day) and I’ll reblog some of your posts during this time.
Congratulations to the winners and shortlist members and a wholehearted thank you to all who took part in this contest! The tokens will be sent before the end of the week.

Congrats, @raj808 and @katrina-ariel! I'll be sure to check out the winning pieces.
I am also honored to have made the shortlist. @vitkolesnik, thank you for putting on a great contest. Sometimes, it's difficult being a poet as I feel a lot of people are disinclined to comment for fear of misunderstanding. So initiatives like this are great to help get poetry read. I also love the fact that old poems were considered.
If you don't mind, I'd like to shamelessly plug my discord channel for those who may be interested. It is a discord server dedicated to categorizing and encouraging comments on poetry. It is the only server I know that encourages a lot of link drops. The only requirement is that you comment on two poems for every one that you post. It keeps poets engaged. AMAZING!!! What a generous contest! I'm honoured and grateful to be chosen as one of the winners. It couldn't have been an easy contest to judge, with all the talent represented here.
Thank you sincerely for the support you're showing my creative efforts by awarding this prize. Blogging on Steemit has not only fed my creativity and gotten me writing more poetry and original music than ever before, but it has grown my network of support in ways I never imagined. The encouragement feeds the creative spirit, and to be rewarded for it brings a certain freedom. A joy.
Congratulations to everyone brave enough to enter, and to all the fine poets featured in this post! Big thank you to everyone sponsoring the contest, to my fellow islanders at the Isle, and to the Whaleshares crew! I guess I better get posting. ;-)
Glad you enjoyed the contest! Keep up the good work! :)
Wow, honored and so happy to recieve this amazing news on the eve of my steemit birthday. Ha ha, one year ago today my account was activated and I'm going to celebrate tomorrow (it's late at night in my part of the world) with a multi-post day. One of those posts will definitely be a poetry post, possibly for another competition. This is an awesome steem-birthday present @vitkolesnik Thank you 😀
You're welcome, looking forward to your new poems!
Hello, Vit,
I'm embarrassed to note that, though a nominee, I missed and failed to vote for this post. I hope you'll respond, with even the briefest of comments, so that I can vote and remedy that situation!
Thank you for the honor of your nomination and for listing and linking to my poem, "An Elegy for Liberty."
Kindest regards,
- @creatr
😄😇😄
Congratulations to @katrina-ariel and @raj808 for their poems having won first and second place.
Thank you to @vitkolesnik and @ash for the 100 DBread and 33 LITT.
Can you tell us in more detail what DBread and LITT may be used for? Are they primarily or specifically bidbot tokens?
@vitkolesnik, if you host another poetry contest then I hope that you will post a link to one of your own poems in its comments section, so that others can comment on your poem, too.
