Opening Ramble

Let's start by talking community! We are a small but growing group of Classical (and other) musicians and music lovers here at #classical-music. It is important to know that on Steemit, we grow as a group. The success of one of our members and help grow the rest of the community. Please keep that in mind as you are posting and dropping links in the Discord, that you keep some time and energy to also support the others in our group! Upvote, comment and resteem posts that you think are worthy!

I wanted to lead with the reading this time instead of music, because @laviq has nailed some really important truths about Steemit in his post My top 3 favourite musicians on Steemit.

@for91days has a great post about The Bagpipes Of Northern Spain - La Gaita. I don't know about you, but I always thought that bagpipes were a Scottish thing! Turns out I was wrong....

It turns out that in her spare time between recording Disney hits and Sinatra classics, @silentscreamer plays a mean Classical Violin! She writes about her experience as a concertmaster in the ballet orchestra where she works.

@zpedro gives us another informative and funny Composer Showdown. This time it is the turn of Satie, an inspiring bohemian

Also in the Satie theme is the post by @freyman, continuing a running comparison of performances with Composer of the week #8 (Erik Satie) Gnossienne No.1.

@mariajruizb gives us a great cover " Hay amores" with a few familiar friends!

ME Me ME!!!!!

This last few days, I've posted a couple of things about music. The first is a performance of Sonata Prima from 'Sonate Concertate in Stil Moderno, Libro II, Venice, 1629' by Dario Castello which was recorded a very very long time ago, but I'm still mostly happy with.

And the second was a long form post about the Viola d'amore, which I have a love/hate relationship with! It is a pain in the arse to play and maintain, but it is really worth it!
