How the story starts

Terence was late for school again. To be honest, Terence was late for school every day. But this was late even for him.

His teacher had long since accepted that Terence ran to a timetable that nobody else could fathom, and that no amount of detentions, canings or extra homework would make the slightest bit of difference. But Mr Green liked to think of himself as a progressive. So it suited his image of himself to find a way to teach Terence, despite the obvious difficulties.

The facts that Terence was a genius, and his father was on the PTA, had nothing to do with Mr Green’s attitude at all. Or so he had persuaded himself.

One of his tactics was to tell Terence what classwork he had missed and ask him to research it himself, and present it to Mr Green after school the next day.

Terence was usually able to do this in a matter of minutes, and since he liked Mr Green well enough, he usually humoured the teacher.

But today, it had all gone wrong, in ways that neither of them could have foreseen.

My entry and continuation of the story.

Terence's father had been noticing how Terence has been missing classes and decided to take action against. Being on the PTA, he did not want fingers pointed at him and so he went to the school to report the matter.

He told the principal that Terence was encouraged to missed classes because of the way the teachers handled him and they had given up on him to be part of the regular students especially Mr. Green who do encourage him by telling him what he had missed and without giving him the right punishment and making sure to be as normal as the other students in his class.

This was a disaster and Mr. Green was quarried for encouraging Terence in all his doings. Mr green was so surprised to the accusation and wanted to clear up things but because the matter is beyond what he had expected, he had to succumb and accepted the blame.

Being a good teacher and wanting to clear up his name, he decided to task Terence father to his word. He told Terence's father, Mr. Tuela to monitor Terence activities out of school also and make sure he gets to school at the right time then he will take up the job from there.

Mr. Tuela accepted the challenge since he was the one that complained but this was not easy for him. He had so many works going on at that time but what can he do since "charity begins at home"

The following day, though Terence was sorry for what had happened. That does not stop him from being late for school again. He was punished this time around and Mr Green gave him the assignment to work on. He told Terance to research on "tardiness". Terence was reluctant to do this research because it related to him and a little researched compared to his capacity but because he respected Mr Green he decided to go for it.

Has he was doing his research, he was looking for who or what he can relate his research on. then he was conscious of his behavior towards school and how he has been coming late to classes.

In his research, he learned that this can affect him negatively in his daily living and in the future apart from his school life even though he was a genius. So he decided to finish up the project and submitted it on time.

Along the research process, he found out how students can be helped to overcome their tardiness and enjoy more of classes and extra curriculum activities.

Terence was so happy that he was able to find solutions to not only his own tardiness but also that of the students and by helping the teachers to accomplished their aims. He was happy and decided to always be punctual to classes.

The following day, early in the morning, Terence was the first to arrive in his class. Everyone was surprised to see him and the whole class clapped so loudly at the other students joined and the teachers were moved to see what was happening.

Mr Green went to the class and stopped the applause going on. Terence went up to Mr green with a smile in his mouth and thanked hos for believing in him and for all his support. He apologized for what had happened due to his tardiness which made his father complained.

Terance then promised Mr green to always be punctual to classes and help other students to overcome their tardiness.
